ASoc Photography Contest

In conjunction with ASocs 10th anniversary celebrations, we are having our first ever photography competition to reminisce old times and capture breathtaking moments. So whip out your camera and start snapping away! You may even submit old photographs as long as it fits into our theme! Finalist entries will be displayed in school as well as online, and the top photos stand to win attractive prizes! *Contest is only open to Accountancy students and alumni. Official competition rules Contest period 19th August to 8th September 2359 hrs *All entries must be submitted and received by September 8th 2013, 2359hrs. All entries should be submitted to asocphotocontest@gmail.com Entrants may not take photographs of faculty members, staff or students without their prior permission. By entering the contest, the entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work, and that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity. The organizers reserve the right to reject all entries deemed inappropriate and we shall have the right to amend the rules at any time without any prior notice. There are 2 categories for this photography competition. They are: 1. The ASoc Spirit 2. My School of Accountancy *Entrants may choose to submit for either category. Each entrant may submit up to a maximum of 1 entry per category. Entrants should submit their photos together with a short write up of not more than 50 words. The photos submitted should be of 10R (10 by 14 inches) in size.

Photo Write up Photo Size Judging

Judging of the photographs will not be restricted to the categories. The judging consists of 2 rounds of evaluation: the preliminary judging and the final judging. This will be done by the ASoc management committee, where 10 entries Preliminary will be selected among all eligible entries from both categories based on Judging the judging criteria. The 10 best photographs will be selected, regardless of which category the entries are submitted into. This evaluation is split into 2 components: the panel judging (70%) and Facebook likes (30%). A panel that includes faculty, staff members, the ASoc president, alumni group representatives among others, will do the panel judging. Final Judging Concurrently, the 10 finalist entries will be put up on Facebook and the component score will be computed based on the number of Facebook likes. Facebook likes component will be open from 13th September 1200hrs to 25th September 2359hrs.
