Procedure For Inspection Of Long Seam Set Up 1. Scope: This procedure covers inspection of all type of Long seam set up of shells, cones, pipes, dished end blanks and plates for Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, columns & Towers. 2. Applicable Document: The following documents shall be referred prior to inspection. Applicable Drawing DCR if any Code Of Construction Applicable Specification, if any 3. Instrument Required: Measuring Tape (calibrated), Template for W.E.P, Thickness meter Template for profile verification

4. Verification and Conformation of Documents: Following documents pertaining to the seam and the items involved shall be verified and conformed before physical inspection. Test certificates and tests Results. MCR duly signed by third party, if applicable. DCR, if applicable. Dimension Report, submitted by Shop as per Annexure-I BaaN entry. Test Plan for PTC requirement, if any. Record of NDT (PT/MT/UT) clearance for WEP as per applicable test plan

5. Physical Verification on the Job: The following shall be verified and ensured on the job. 5.1 5.2 5.3 5.4 5.5 Identification of part- inspectors stamp and punching details. Seam No punching along the seam at every 1000mm apart (highlighting the same with paints) with minimum one per seam. Cleanliness of W.E.P & adjoining area of 25 mm on either side. All tacks are free from crack. Weld edges and shell surface free from arc strikes, spatters, gas cutting serration, pitting & dents.

Procedure For Inspection Of Long Seam Set Up 5.6 5.7 5.8 5.9 Offset, is within the limit specified in Table 2 Run in & run out coupon on either end, with matching W.E.P. Welders stamp for tacks on groove for set up. PTC as an extension to the seam, if applicable.

5.10 Profile and ovality checks of rolled sections in accordance with HEDHZW-INS-T-003 and HED-HZW-INS-T-004 5.11 Dimensional measurement as per the Table1. Inspection Ruling: Based on the Inspection findings, acceptable set up shall be released for further work in the inspection module. Third party inspection clearance shall be obtained wherever applicable by getting the relevant report singed by third party. Unacceptable set ups shall be rejected with the reasons in the system.
