today, he pioneered the fields of animation, found new ways to teach and educate. He had that unique ability to see the entire picture, his views and visions came from the fond memory of yesteryear, and also had that persistence for the future, Walt loved history but was aware of the potential of technology to improve humans life, he connected it to his ongoing mission of making life more enjoyable and fun. We can refer to him as our bridge from the past to the future. A pioneer, innovator and the possessor of one of the most fertile and unique, incredible imagination the world has ever known. He was a creator, an imaginative and aesthetic person, who wanted to make the difference, always followed his dreams, and did what really interested him. Born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago Illinois, and moved right after his birth to Marceline, Missouri, where lived out most of his childhood, he showed a very early interest in drawing and art, instead of doing his school work Walt doodled pictures of animals and nature. Even after the Disney Family moved to Kansas City, he continued developing and flourishing in his talent for artistic drawing. During the fall of 1918, Disney attempted to enlist for military service, but was rejected because he was under age at the time, instead he joined the Red Cross and was sent overseas to France, once he returned from France, he wanted to pursue a career in commercial art, which soon lead to his experiments in animation, He began producing short animated films for local business in Kansas City. By the time Walt had started to create the Alice Comedies, which was about a real girl and her adventures in an animated world, unfortunately Walt ran out of money, and his Company Laugh O Grams went Bankrupted. Instead of giving up, Walt packed his suitcase and with his unfinished print of The Alice Comedies in hand, he headed for Hollywood to start a new business. Roy O. Disney, Walts brother was already in California, with an immense amount of sympathy and encouragement and $250. Pooling their resources, they borrowed and additional $500 and set up shop in their uncles garage. Soon they received an order from New York for the first Alice in Cartoonland feature, so they expanded their production operation to the rear of a Hollywood real estate office. It was Walts enthusiasm and faith in himself and others, that took him straight to the top of Hollywood society, and started a successful l in entertainment industry, creating animated stories and characters that captured peoples love, joy and excitement, that was what really mattered to him, he knew he could always do it better, he was concerned about peoples needs specially related to the entertainment. One day Walt Disney had a vision, it was a vision of a place where children and parents could have fun together, the more Walt dreamed of a magical park, the more imaginative and elaborated it became. He need space to build rivers, waterfalls and mountains, he would have flying elephants and giant teacups, a fairy tale castle, moon rockets and a scenic railway, all inside a magic kingdom he called Disneyland . Location was a top priority, the search for the best spot ended in the rural Anaheim, California, with a

purchase of 160 acre orange groove. Construction began on July 21 1954, twelve months before the park was scheduled to open. From that day forward Walt Disneys life would never be the same. He stayed close to every detail of the Parks Construction, despite the several obstacles, bit by bit, Disneyland got ready for the Opening Day. It was a Day to remember. Walt Disney was 53 when he dedicated Disneyland Park, it was a memorable ceremony, there in Town Square. Walt could look around and see the fulfillment of his hopes, dreams and ambitions in the form of a spectacular entertainment kingdom, he quite knew that Disneyland will never be completed; it will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. That s why, Even though Walt Disney wasnt able to see how his park and his company prospered and grew into the 21 Century, his legacy still lives on with us, he is that inspiration to keep believing in dreams, in what we want and go for it, try to imagine a world without Walt Disney, a world without his magic, whimsy and optimism. He once said these wise words, and I would like to share them with you: he said: Somehow I cant believe there are any heights that cant be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me that can be summarized in four Cs. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy, and the greatest of these is Confidence, When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable. Theres no doubt, that throughout Disneyland and Throughout the entire world, Walt Disney will always be there, in our minds and hearts, reminding us that dreams come true, you just have to chase them, and always believe!
