Sustainability Project Research Assistant

Description Interested in sustainability and marketing? Then apply to be a Sustainability Project Research Assistant in the School of Business! Description: Maintain and grow project resource site for the Enhancing Sustainability in the Business School Curriculum Project; identify, review, collect, and provide access to sustainability-related topics and resources for faculty at Ithaca College to assist faculty in more easily embedding such topics into courses and providing technical assistance to faculty in their doing so. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates should have sophomore status or above, good GPA, and Interest in sustainable business practices Basic knowledge of sustainable terms, practices and policies Understanding of IC School of Business majors and sustainable aspects of the B-School building Good web-based and library research skills and creative problemsolving ability Excellent organizational and follow-through skills Ability to communicate and market effectively verbally and in writing Willingness to take the initiative and drive the project forward with little oversight Ability to work effectively and network well with various constituencies in the business school, at IC, and in the local Ithaca community More Info Ability to learn and use Sakai project system Beneficial But Not Required: Have taken or be currently enrolled in sustainability course Experience with Sakai system Interest in attending sustainability issues-related speakers Knowledge of how to do podcasting, upload media content, and related technical processes Duties & Responsibilities: In general, this person will: Manage the faculty Sustainability in the Curriculum Business School Sakai Project Site and provide technical assistance to faculty in using this site Perform web searches, research and detective work to locate new resources and content links to be added to Sakai project site Maintain project site viability by keeping content updated, removing outdated resources, approving or rejecting new information to be posted to site offered from outside sources Market site to faculty, provide demonstrations, encourage uses, and create new applications

Attend related meetings and speakers as necessary to build knowledge and contacts; Manage backup flash drive system for all resources listed on Sakai site Assist with strategic planning for site use, visibility, availability, and extension to new constituencies; enhance local, statewide, or perhaps even national recognition Use own creativity to produce monthly (or more frequent) topic-specific newsletters for faculty to enhance project visibility, increase resource use, and educate users.
