Wewantourschoolandalmamatertostandupforitsmission.Weareconcernedwearenow associatedwithaUniversitythatcannot,orwillnot,ensurethatitsfemalefacultymembers receiveequalpayforequalwork.WeneedtoknowthattheprinciplesDUclaimstostandfor includefairtreatmentforall. OurconcernsaboutwagediscriminationatDUarenotjustaboutoneprofessor.TheUniversity hastheresponsibilitytoensurethatallfacultymembersandemployeesattheLawSchoolare compensatedequitably.Inthisregard,wearedisturbedthateventhoughtheLawSchoolis awarethatfemalelawfullprofessors,includingProfessorMarsh,arepaidlessthantheirmale counterparts,ithasnotcorrectedthisinequity.Andwewereespeciallydismayedtoseethatin aDecember2012memorandumonfacultypay,theLawSchooladmittedthatrecentfaculty raiseswereimplementedwithoutregardtotryingtocorrectpotentialinequities.Thisis unacceptable. WebelieveDUmusttakeactioninresponsetoProfessorMarshscharge.TheUniversitymust evaluateitspaypracticestoidentifygenderbasedwagedisparitiessystemwide,andeliminate theinstitutionalbarriersandpracticesthatcontributetothemwherevertheyexist.WeaskDU provideaplanforhowitintendstorespondtowagediscriminationassoonaspossible.
