Example#1:2.5x3.42. Theanswertothisproblemwouldbe8.6(whichwasroundedfromthecalculatorreadingof8.55).Why?

Sometimesstudentswillanswerthiswithfive.Mostlikelyyourespondedwiththisanswerbecauseitsays14.012 onyourcalculator.Thisanswerwouldhavebeencorrectinyourmathclassbecausemathematicsdoesnothavethe significantfigureconcept.
