Electronic Newsletter for Wyomings OUT-OF-OPTIONS Furkids

August 12, 2013

e-WOOF is a bi-monthly

e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.

URGENT - Casper Metro Animal Control Contact: Cathy Corbin at 307-267-6524 or rescuerangers2@yahoo.com TUCKER is a Heeler mix, 3 years old. No doubt about it I am a great looking dog with beautiful colors. I enjoy going for walks, sniffing, and feeling the sunshine on my face. I am only about 1820 tall just the right size! Im hoping to find a new family to love me and whom I can love in return. We could have a great time going for walks, or even jogs. Please come meet me and lets go for a walk! SHASTA is a German Shepherd mix, 3 years old. Im Shasta, and I enjoy car rides and walks, plus I know sit and stay. I like people and other dogs, and I like to play with balls. I lost my home because my family was moving. As you can see, I am a beautiful girl with lots of gorgeous dark brown, highlighted with gold tones, fur. I need a 6 fenced for my own safety. Im looking for a new family, and hope someone will come adopt me! BUDDY is a Lab mix, 3 years old. I lost my home when my family became homeless. I am a beautiful, gentle, calm guy who has a great carriage. I enjoy a walk and I am an excellent walker on leash. Did I tell you I like people and other dogs? I would love to have a new home where I will be loved and can share walks with a new family. Please come meet me at the pound. Maybe we can take a walk together and become a family. BRONX is a Lab mix, 2 years old. I am a good looking guy who has some cinnamon colored hair on my head. I like people and other dogs, and enjoy going for a walk, and giving kisses. I seem to be quite mellow and easygoing. I would love to have a second chance in life with a new family who will take care of me and love me. I have lots of love to give to such a family. Im eagerly waiting at the pound! ODEN is a German Shepherd mix, neutered, 1.5 years old. I like going for walks, squeaky toys, balls, stuffed animals, and water. I appear to like people and other dogs. I am hoping I will get a second chance in life and someone will adopt me. I would enjoy having a new home and family. You can find me at the pound. Please come meet me and lets see if we are a fit for one another!

e-WOOF spotlights many dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted.
Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

National Brittany Rescue and Adoption Network Contact: Linda Mickley at 307-760-4907 or lmickleyk9s@gmail.com Annie is a sweet senior Brittany girl (house-broken and crate
trained) who is looking for her forever home for her golden years. She is very spry at 11-years old; she loves to run and romp. Annie seems to be a retired birding dog, as she is quite deaf, but she is VERY visually stimulated. She watches birds fly and tracks them overhead! She is a petite 30 pounds, and loves her dinners, petting, a good roll in the grass, and being near you. She is current on her vaccinations, spayed, has had a dental (poor nutrition in her early years led to her having 7 non-molar teeth removed... she just needs her food moistened), and is Heartworm negative. She just loves her walks, and snuffling in the grass and looking for birds. She is an absolute gem of a girl! She gets along with other dogs, as long as they arent pushy. She will be cat-tested. A home without young children would be best (due to her deafness), and she will require a very secure fenced area for exercise. She does play fetch and has a gentle mouth. She will readily come to you when she sees you and you wave for her. She would be a good candidate for a vibration training collar. Her adoption fee is $200, or $100 if the adopter is over 60. Please go to the NBRAN website for an application. http:// www.nbran.org/adoptappl.asp ____________

Time is of the essence for helping the dogs featured in the e-WOOF newsletters. Please contact the name/numbers for each dog before contacting eWOOF. In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support FOR THE

ANNIE

Park County Animal Shelter -- Cody, WY Contact: 307-587-5110 or manager@parkcountyanimalshelter.com BO is a 5 year old male Heeler/Catahoula mix. He has been with us for almost 2 years. He is a great dog so we dont understand why he has been here for so long! He is a staff favorite, and he always does wonderfully at the dog park. He plays well with all the other dogs and he loves it. He would be best in a home without cats, because he would chase them. He loves to go for walks, loves the water, and loves to play with tennis balls. He would be great for an active family. SUGAR is a 2 year old female Shepherd mix. She came to us as a stray, and we were shocked that no one came looking for her. She is very quiet and calm. She is a little bit timid, so she just needs a little bit of extra love and patience. This sweet girl definitely deserves it though! The people who found her did say she chased their cats, so she would be best in a home without them. SKILLET is a 6 year old Red Nose Pit. He is a giant baby who thinks he is a lap dog! He LOVES to go for walks and he LOVES to cuddle! He would be best in a home without cats or other dogs. ____________

The Dog and Cat Shelter, Inc. -- Sheridan, WY Contact: 307-674-7694 or Cel at dogncat@fiberpipe.net MILES is a small black twenty-one-month-old Kelpie/Aussie mix who had not been handled or played with as a pup. Since he came in October, we have been working hard to get him used to human interaction and enjoying attention. He has really come a long ways and is now walking on a leash and coming up to people he knows. He is a very nice dog and never showed any aggression even though he was terrified. He is always wagging his little stubby tail and wiggles his whole body to show how much he likes your attention. He might do best in a quiet home as the only dog and most definitely needs a very gentle, patient person.

UPDATES

DOOGIE is a three-month-old black lab mix. He is a very energized puppy and needs lots of training. He loves to play with all toys and needs to play a lot to burn off all his energy. Doogie is partially house trained and is great with other dogs and cats. He does well on a leash. He is good with all ages of people as he likes lots of loving. If you come up to see him, remember he is still a young puppy. ____________ Sheridan, WY Contact: Jody at 307-752-0741 or dogsetc@actaccess.net Meet SWEETS! Her companion Dobby has been adopted and she is now lonely in her kennel situation. She really needs out of the kennel and into a foster home if possible where she can get some exercise and socialization. Sweets was found with Dobby on the up ramp to the interstate near Lodge Grass, Montana. She has been vaccinated, vetted, and spayed. She would prefer a home without rowdy dogs. Sweets is quiet and loves to hang out and get attention. She will be about 65 lbs. when she gets her weight back. She was very thin and went far too long without good food so she guards all food from other dogs. But she has never been anything but cooperative and kind with people and LOVES, LOVES, LOVES attention! ____________
