High-speed continuous gyro

The newest product in SPT's GyroTracer range is the GyroTracer Directional North-Seeking, High-Speed Continuous Gyro. This versatile tool can survey a wellbore at speeds up to 150m/min while simultaneously sending data to surface equipment. The GyroTracer Directional is well suited to offshore applications as it can accurately survey all well profiles, from vertical to horizontal. It is a highly reliable instrument, able to handle continuous surveying at high latitudes or inclinations with no loss of accuracy, and it does not require any surface alignment or calibration prior to use, making it one of the most efficient and flexible gyro instruments available.

Fiber-optic gyro
SPT's new GyroLogic Downhole Directional Survey Tool uses a fiber-optic-based gyro to find direction. This rugged, easy-to-use instrument can be employed in a variety of offshore applications, including shallow / deep borehole surveying, single shot / multi shot and continuous mode. The GyroLogic fiber-optic giro can accurately survey all well profiles at all inclination angles, and can provide directional data (azimuth and dip) at any interval from inside all types of drill rods.

North-seeking gyro

The original GyroTracer North-Seeking Gyro is extremely reliable. Featuring the latest technology, this accurate downhole directional survey and orientation tool uses the gyrocompassing method to find direction. Unlike other downhole survey tools that use an indirect method or magnetic tools, the GyroTracer North-Seeking Gyro is not affected by magnetic interference so it can be run inside casing, tubing, drill pipes and magnetically disturbed ground.

Downhole gyro navigation

The 42mm diameter GyroTracer Directional system is ideal for use in a range of applications in the offshore industry, including shallow borehole and deep borehole surveying, high-speed continuous mode, single-shot / multi-shot applications, slim-hole casing, orientation, whip stock kick-off, and downhole motor orientation. Supplied with both wireline and memory-mode options, the GyroTracer product is established as a benchmark technology for downhole gyro navigation, and the operating software that runs it is extremely user friendly.

Calibration and testing stand

The Universal Calibration Stand for the GyroTracer Directional is designed for testing and calibration. It is lightweight and hard-wearing, ideal for accurate testing of a range of downhole survey instruments. It is a compact, non-magnetic stand that features advanced design while remaining incredibly easy to use. The Universal Calibration Stand allows customers to calibrate their tools on site, in just a few hours, saving time and money. It also enables accurate Quality Control checks of instruments in the stand and the option to simulate real situations. Tools can be tested in all inclinations (0360), toolface (0-360) and azimuth angles (0-360).
