C. Requirements
All students are expected to: Complete all lessons. Do all assigned readings and related homework. Come to class prepared and on time. Participate in class. Work in teams. Pass all tests, laboratory assignments, quizzes, and reports to receive credit for the course.

D. Evaluation/Grade Reporting:
Evaluation will be based on three exams, one small project, quizzes, reports, attendance, participation, and a final exam weighted as indicated below: Exam 1.....25% Exam 2.....25% Final Exam...25% Oral Presentation / Project Reports.25%

Final grades will be assigned according to a standard scale: 0 59 60 69 70 79 80 89 F D C B

E. Assignment / Examinations:
1. Instructions on when/where to submit homework will be provided the day the homework is assigned. 2. Students are required to attend all examinations. 3. If a student is absent from an examination for a justifiable reason acceptable to the instructor and the instructor is notified within 24 hours from the missed examination date, the instructor might arrange for a substitute examination. Otherwise, the student will receive a grade of zero in the examination missed. 4. There will be no substitute examination for any missed quiz or homework. 5. Students, who are not in-class when a graded homework or exam is distributed and would like to be considered for a re-grade, are responsible for contacting the professor within a weeks period starting on the date the grade was made available to students in class. No regrade requests will be considered one week after the work was made available to students in class.

F. Disabilities:

G. Ethics:
Any academic fraud will be subject to the disciplinary sanctions described in article 14 and 16 of the revised General Student Bylaws of the University of Puerto Rico contained in Certification 018-1997-98 of the Board of Trustees. The instructor will follow the norms established in articles 1-5 of the Bylaws.

H. General Rules:
1. Presentations are only intended to be a guide for the instructor. Course content is ruled by the textbook readings outlined in the course syllabus. 2. Attendance will be monitored in class on a daily basis. It is the students responsibility to sign the attendance list to be circulated by the instructor at the beginning of each lecture. 3. You are expected to always attend lectures. However, if circumstances out of your control prevent you from attending to class, you are expected to provide a reasonable and verifiable reason for the absence. 4. If you have more than three unexcused absences within an attendance report period, you will be reported as not attending the course. 5. Students are fully responsible for all assignments and material discussed in-class whether they attend class or not. 6. You are fully responsible to regularly check your UPRM e-mail account and the Moodle website for course announcements. 7. All instructional materials (i.e., lecture slides, quizzes, reports, exams, etc.) will be in English and no written translations into Spanish will be provided. 8. If you cannot meet the instructor during the standard office hours, you have the right to contact directly the instructor to setup an appointment. 9. No special projects will be given to anyone to improve grades or for any other reason. 10. Mobile phones, personal computers, tape recorders, and/or other electronic devices will not be allowed in the classroom at any time.
