There are many witha misunder standing of what it means to pledge to mission work. They think that to make a pledge means that they must take the complete support of an in dividual, and realizingthattheycannot do this, they dismiss from their minds any thought of regular and sys
tematic giving.

Hello therel I promised in my first letter to keep you informed as to what happens to me as I launch out on this adventure with my Daddy and Mommy. Well, things have real ly happened to mel I had a broken arm and had to have it in a splint for six weeks. We have traveled many thousands of miles and made a great many new friends who have all trea ted me so very kindly that 1 have not even minded not having a real home. Pledges, for the most part, come from individuals pledging $5 or $10 a month or from churches pledging $10 or $20 a month; each of these in dividuals and churches becoming an integral part of the work they support.

and ever-menacing clergy. He pays regularly for a religious service that is as pagan as those in dark Africa and as idolatrous as religious India. The gayety is gone; his heavy drink ing is not for love of life, but to
cover the burden of his sin-filled conscience. He knows in his heart
that the drunk and unchaste clergy is not of God. The houses of ill-repute that are in each city are not clean because a robed cleric so proclaims
it. There is heartbreak in his life where shall he turn? What and i s tie all
answer? Where can he find comfort?
