Starting point: Sattele area above Ochsengarten Above Ochsengarten you head towards Feldringalm mountain inn on a slightly rising forest trail (toboggan run in winter). Across Feldringerbden meadows towards the connecting trail to Marlstein. Back again to Sattele area. (Time: 4 hrs)
Starting point: Ochsengarten village center Walk across the bridge and follow the brook towards Khtai amid picture-book winter landscapes. Cross Nederbach brook and the federal road at the height of Stopfer Bridge . Return to Ochsengarten on the sunny side of the valley. (Time: 1 hr)
Starting point: Sattele area above Ochsengarten Take the first turn-off on the right and continue to the hamlet of Marlstein across the forest. Return on the same route. Please note that this trail is not always cleared in winter. (Time: 3 hrs)
Starting point: Haiming administration Walk towards the hamlet of Magerbach along the asphalted Apple Road leading to Silz. Off the main road and also perfectly suitable for prams. Return to Haiming via Pirchetwald forest. (Time: 2.5 hrs)
Starting point: Haiming administration From the Haiming information office you walk to Riedern. Cross the suspension bridge before you reach the picturesque little hamlet of Schlierenzau. Walk back to Haiming along the asphalt road. (Time: 2.5 hrs)
TOUR OF 5 VILLAGES
Explore the scenic villages of Haiming, tztal Bahnhof, Sautens, Oetz and Tumpen on easy and perfectly cleared winter hiking trails, leading across lovely hamlets, snow-covered forests and meadows. (Time: 5 hrs)
Starting point: Information Sautens Walk through the village of Sautens, past the church to Drei-Kirchenblick vantage point. Along the broad forest trail to the edge of Sautens and on the asphalt (main) road back to the center. (Time: 1 hr)
Starting point: above the church of Sautens First you follow the toboggan track until you reach the cart road to Haderlehn. Walk along this route towards Ferienhof Haderlehn where you change to the broad forest road leading to the hamlet of Piburg. Back on the same route or via Elsinger Trail to Oetz and Beerweg Trail to Sautens. (Time: 3 hrs)
Starting point: Information Sautens or Oetz Medinger Weg Trail is an idyllic route between Sautens and Oetz, leading across scenic meadows. Cross the tztaler Ache river in the villages and return on the other shore of the river. (Time: 1 hr)
Starting point: Oetz village center From the village center you head towards the childrens playground near Haidach sports field. Follow the broad forest trail leading up to lake Piburger See. Along the western lakeshore to the hamlet of Piburg. Back to Oetz along the main road. (Time: 2 hrs)
Starting point: Oetz village center From the village center you head towards the childrens playground near the Haidach sports field. Follow the broad forest trail to Kohlstatt area. Turn left and proceed on Randweg Trail to Habichen and back again to Oetz. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: Oetz village center From the village center of Oetz southwards along the tztaler Ache river on a slightly rising trail until you get to Andreas-Hofer-Weg fork-off. Here you can choose from three alternatives: a) Turn left and walk across the silent forest until you reach the hamlet of Habichen where you cross the road and return to Oetz on the asphalt trail. b) Continue straight ahead to Weller Bridge for a couple of minutes. Here you turn left and walk through the forest to the hamlet of Habichen. Cross the federal road and return to Oetz on the asphalt trail. c) Walk straight ahead to Weller Bridge and cross the tztaler Ache river. Continue further on to lake Piburger See across the forest. Back to Oetz along the federal road or Elsinger Trail.

Ochsengarten
2.2 km long run from Sattele (1690 m) to Feldringalm (serviced inn). Hiking time 1 hr. Rental service at Feldringalm. No oncoming traffic. Tip: slightly ascending ideal for families.

Wetterkreuz (2591 m)
From the car park across the forest towards Obere Issalm > continue in south-western direction through the sparse forest of Wrgetal valley > past the Mining House, along the valley up to an altitude of 2250 m above sea level > bypass a steep section with a left and right loop before you reach the peak slope > follow the slope up to the ridge, always keeping to the left in the upper part > head towards the summit on the left. Ascent approx. 2.5 - 3 hrs. Easy to intermediate downhill route. Best time between December and April.

Length: 6 km, skating & classic style Degree of difficulty: easy Starting point: car park at Information Office. The 6 km cross-country skiing track leads - slightly ascending and descending - right to the heart of Niederthais sunny plateau and across endless fields. Past the scenic houses of Niederthai or along the forest edge you can enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views. Monday, Wednesday, Friday: floodlit track (1 km) next to Hotel Tauferberg.
Length: 10 km, skating & classic style Degree of difficulty: intermediate Starting point: car park at Information Office. Ascending route for the first kilometer, After a smooth downhill section and a level part you cross Horlachbach brook, continuing uphill for 1 km across Horlachtal valley. Downhill route via Horlachbach brook. After a short but steeply ascending section you return to Route No. 1 (Sonnenplateau).

A speedy downhill track with some steep sections and hairpin bends takes you back to the starting point. Real experts can choose the alternative downhill track via Wolfsegg lift.

TAUFERBERG LOOP
Bergmahderweg Horlachtal
Starting point: Information Niederthai. Keep to the left, cross the bridge towards the hamlet of Sennhof. Follow the ascending Bergmahder trail (right of the fire department), proceeding up to Horlachtal valley, past Hubertus chapel, until you reach Larstigalm mountain hut. (Time: 2 hrs)
Grastalweg Jagdhtte
Starting point: car park of Hotel Falknerhof. Follow Grastal trail until you reach the fork-off to lake Grastalsee. Steeply ascending trail for ski mountaineers to Grastal, towards Grastalsee. At its end you reach Jagdhtte from where you return on the forest path. (Time: 2 2.5 hrs)
Starting point: Tumpen. Winding ascent along the cart trail to Tumpens most renowned mountain. After approx. 800 m altitude gain: either towards Armelenhtte on the left or Vordere Tumpenalm on the right. Back to Tumpen on the same route. (Time: 3.5 - 4 hrs)

Starting point: church. From the parish church in Umhausen you head towards Neudorf and Antonius chapel to Fundustal/Leierstal. Cross the bridge and follow the trail until you reach the hamlet of Hopfgarten. Walk again over a bridge and turn right before you get to the football field, then return to Umhausen. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: church. From the parish church in Umhausen you keep to the left (bakery), heading towards Farst and the foothill of the mountain. Steeply winding path to Farst mountain inn. (Time: 2 hrs)
Starting point: church. From the parish church in Umhausen you keep to the left (bakery), towards Rosslach and the end of the trail. At the fork-off you follow the signs Alte Niederthaier Strae . Continue on the ascending road to Niederthai. (Time: 2.5 hrs)

You keep to the right towards the hamlet of Ennebach, continuing in direction of Grastal until you reach Larstigalm hut or proceeding further on to Schweinfurter Htte. Return to Larstigalm. Leaving behind the hut you turn right in direction of Bergmahderweg and return to Niederthai. (Time: Larstigalm 2 hrs / Schweinfurter Htte 4 hrs)
Starting point: Information Niederthai. Turn left and cross the bridge heading towards Sennhof (hamlet) and Hfle/Bichl. Here you enjoy really breathtaking panoramic views of the Alpine scenery. (Time: 1 hr)
Starting point: Information Niederthai. Turn left and cross the bridge heading in the direction of Sennhof (hamlet) and Bergmahderweg . The trail leads above Horlachtal to Schweinfurter Htte. Wonderful panoramic views. At the end of the trail you find Larstigalm hut. Return on foot or on a toboggan. (Time: 2 hrs)
Starting point: Information Niederthai. Walk to the right towards Ennebach / berfeld / Lehen (hamlets). Turn left at the football field, walk across the forest to Mauslassattel saddleback. Downhill trail to Wiesle snack station, not serviced in winter. (Time: 1 hr)

Starting point: Gasthof Acherkogel. Cross the federal road at Gasthof Acherkogel and the bridge towards Umhausen. Continue further on to the hamlet of Lehn/Platzl, walking past the idyllic Maria Schnee chapel and return to Umhausen following the signs, across the romantic forest. (Time: 2 hrs)

Ascent from Information Niederthai along Horlachtal Trail (7 km) in direction Schweinfurter Htte > leaving behind Klein Horlachalm (1900 m) you take the climbing trail on the left to Finstertaler Sennhtte (2147 m) > follow the valley bottom, heading towards the eastern basin and the summit > finally you reach the mountain ridge -> continue on the trail until you get to its highest point (ski depot available). Ascent: 4 hrs. Intermediate downhill route. Best time between December and April.

Length: 13 km, skating Degree of difficulty: easy Starting point: Camping tztal. From Camping tztal across the footbridge in direction of Oberried. Slightly ascending trail to the Plague Chapel. You reach the loop trail again near the footbridge. The parallel skating track leads towards the southern part of Lngenfeld-Sd. The return route takes you across gently sloping areas to the bridge in Runhof. For the last kilometers you follow the same route back to Camping tztal.

Length: 3 km, classic style Degree of difficulty: easy Starting point: Hotel Bergwelt in Au. Follow the level track to Nlach where the circular route travels slightly ascending and descending across wonderful pasturelands. Back to the starting point. Please check snow conditions due to the very sunny location.
Length: 10 km classic style, 5 km skating Degree of difficulty: intermediate Starting point: Gries car park. The skating route travels along the sloping terrain along Fischbach brook. The classic track leads around the village of Gries.
LNGENFELD-NORD
Length: 9 km, classic style Degree of difficulty: easy Starting point: Camping tztal. Along the forest, across meadows to Oberried road. Cross the road continuing to the hamlets of Dorf-Espan on the right river shore. Enter the idyllic birch forest and proceed on the slightly rising track to the turning point at Winklens bridge. Southwards along tztaler Ache river. The Oberried loop continues to the Plague Chapel and back to Camping tztal.

Length: 11 km, skating & classic style Degree of difficulty: easy Starting point: Camping tztal. Across Fischbach bridge, along a level track to the hamlets of Astlehn and Runhof. Cross tztaler Ache river proceeding southwards in direction of Huben. At the turning point in Huben you cross the small road to Hubens Fun Park, following the sloping track through the forest. In Astlehn you change to the other side of the river, across a romantic forest you return to the campsite.

AUENWEG (2)
Starting point: Camping tztal. Towards the road bridge to Oberried - do not cross the bridge but follow the road to Lngenfeld for 150 m until you reach the cart trail to Dorf, Espan and Au. The return path travels towards Winkelbrcke bridge after the bridge you continue along tztaler Aches river shore until you get to the footbridge. Cross the river next to the Plague Chapel and return to the starting point. (Time: 3 hrs)
Starting point: Camping tztal. Along tztaler Ache river past Aqua Dome Spa - southwards on the cart trail past the hamlet of Astlehn to Runhof. Along the tztaler Ache river to the road bridge in Huben cross the bridge
and follow again the river shore to Runhof bridge. Continue on the right river shore until you get back to the starting point. (Time: 3 hrs)
Starting point: Huben parish church. Towards the Fun Par, then southwards across the wooden bridge. Past the sports field to the next hamlet walk to the fire department. From the road bridge along the left river shore back to the parish church in Huben. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: Winklen. From the bus stop in Winklen you follow the signposts to Wurzberg Alm. Along the even trail past the hamlets of Unterried, Lehn and Oberried. A slightly rising section takes you to the Plague Chapel. Return to Winklen via Auenweg trail past the hamlet of Lehner Au. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: bridge over the tztaler Ache river (southern end of Huben). Follow the right river shore for 200 m. Cross the federal road continuing along the tztal Mountain Bike Trail via Winkle and Bruggen to Aschbach. Back on the same route. (Time: 3 hrs)
Starting point: Spar market in the village center. Along a broad and rising trail to Burgstein across the small village towards the hamlet of Runhof, on the narrow asphalt road. Follow loop trail no. 3 which takes you back to the starting point. (Time: 3 hrs)
Starting point: Fischbach bridge, near the church. Follow Klammweg trail along a broad, rising path to the Brand snack station. Back on foot or toboggan, no toboggan rental. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: hamlet of Winklen Along trail no. 5 to the gate. A rising forest path leads to Wurzberg Alm (4 km). Weather permitting, this trail is also a toboggan run, toboggan rental available. (Time: 3.5 hrs)
Starting point: Huben sports field. The newly designed, slightly ascending tztal Legends Trail leads up to Alpengasthof Feuerstein (3 km). Toboggan run and walking trail floodlit at night.

Starting point: car park at the edge of Gries Follow the route of the previous tour after 30 min you turn right into the broad forest trail leading to the serviced Nisslalm hut. Back on the same route, on foot or toboggan - toboggan rental on the hut. (Time: 4 hrs)

Zwieselstein
Length: 7 km, skating & classic style Degree of difficulty: intermediate Starting point: Gasthof Brckenwirt. The nordic track is suitable for both classic-style and skating up to the Zwieselstein sports field. The scenic classic route continues above Venter Ache brook to the hamlet of Bodenegg. Crossing a bridge you reach the other side of the valley where you return to Zwieselstein through the sparse forest. In cold but sunny weather you can admire breathtaking spots covered with white frost.

WALKING TRAIL TO MOOSALM (SERVICED) & HIKING TRAIL TO BRUNNENBERGALM (NOT SERVICED)
Starting point: Gaislachkogl mountain gondola. Heading towards the campsite you cross the bridge and follow the rising road to Moosalm, great panoramic views. Proceed on the slightly ascending forest road across sparse woods to Brunnenbergalm offering stunning vistas of the Gaislachkogl ski mountain located opposite. (Time: 2 hrs)
PANORAMA TRAIL
Starting point: Slden church. From the church you take the steeply rising path towards Auerwaldstrae, enjoy lovely views of Slden. Those who prefer less effort can take the Zentrum Shuttle (funicular railway). Afterwards you cross the ski slope and get to Auerwaldstrae as well. Passing the childrens playground on the left you keep to the right and turn into Panoramaweg trail: picture-book panoramic
views, benches provided. Continue further on to Rettenbach road on a slightly rising path then back to Slden. (Time: 1.5 hrs) ALTERNATIVE: further on to Gaislach on the slightly rising forest trail. Turn left at the fork-off (gate) - along the descending forest trail to the helicopter base/ trade area and back to Slden by skibus. (Time: 2 hrs)
Starting point: Freizeit Arena. Sun-flooded route in the valley bottom with no change in elevation, benches are provided. (Time: 45 min)
Starting point: Freizeit Arena. From Freizeit Arena you follow the rising Granbichlstrae, heading towards Windachtal valley. Lovely forest trail with splendid vantage points. Leaving behind a dense little forest you reach quaint Stallwiesalm mountain hut located on the valleys sunny side. From here you can watch the skiers on the opposite slope, admiring the Alpine scenery and all its highlights. Return on foot or on toboggan. (Time: 2 hrs)
Starting point: Freizeit Arena. Take the steeply rising trail behind the church leading up to Auerwaldstrasse. Across the hamlet of Innerwald you reach the tztal Glacier Road. Continue along the rising trail to Hochslden, wonderful panorama of the upper valley. Refreshment stop in Hochslden. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: Freizeit Arena. Walking uphill towards Granbichl you turn right at the first fork-off. Slightly descending route along Windaustrae and the brook in direction of the campsite. Uphill again to the hamlet of Platte, turn right into the forest and cross the new suspension bridge leading to the federal road. Back to the center. Refreshment stop: supermarket. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: Slden church. Follow the steep trail leading up to Panoramastrae. Continue further on to Schnblickweg (not cleared) on the slightly ascending forest trail to Granstein. Refreshment stop at Gasthof Granstein. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
Starting point: Freizeit Arena. From Freizeit Arena Slden you follow Gemeindestrae on the right, heading towards Waldele and Rechenaustrae until you reach Haus Trofana (northwards). Turn right into the forest trail and continue on this trail until you get to Kaisers. (Time: 50 min)
Starting point: Gasthof Brckenwirt. From Gasthof Brckenwirt you walk along the cross-country skiing track. (Time: 40 min)
Starting point: Slden - Pitze. From the hamlet of Pitze across the new suspension bridge next to the supermarket. Further on to lovely Moosalm (serviced) and along the cleared, ascending forest trail to Brunnenbergalm (serviced only in summer). Return to Slden. (Time: 2.5 hrs)

Starting point: Obergurgl center. From Obergurgl you walk to Davids Htte and up to Schnwieshtte at the entrance to Rotmoostal valley. Open from mid December on six days a week, closed on Sundays. (Time: 1.5 hrs)
