Program Coordinator Job Description

About Young Voices Young Voices is a grassroots organization focused on training urban youth across RI to become powerful advocates for systemic change. We currently operate out of six sites, including five high schools in Providence, Central Falls, and Pawtucket. Through our year-round Leadership Transformation Academy (LTA), young people gain powerful skills in public speaking, networking, policy analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to relate effectively with high-level leaders. This intense training supports youth to push for systemic change in RIs education system at the school, district, and state level. As part of their leadership training, our youth have testified at State House and Board of Education hearings on a variety of state-level education issues. At the school level, we support youth to have an authentic voice in the redesign of their schools. Youth survey the entire study body, collecting data on what students say will improve the school. They then partner with principals and teachers on key decision-making committees to impact policies that make a measurable improvement in school culture and climate and instruction.
