JESSECA DUNIS THE STORY OF THE BOTUAN FISH AND THE MILLIPEDE.

Last month, my mother told me a story. It was a story about a fish called Botuan that was believed to transform into millipede. There was a village near a river. Many people went there and set up their traps in the river. One day, a villager went to the river to check his fishing trap but he found that his fishing trap was empty. He was very surprised because it never happen before. Furthermore, the other villagers fishing trap was full of fishes. For the next day, the he came again to check his trap. For his surprised, he found that his trap was empty again. He began guessing of the mystery of how his trap can be empty all the time. Although, he did not give up and managed to set up his trap again. He began to think of a way to find out the truth of the mystery of his empty trap. On the third day, the man came to the check his trap. He hide in a hut nearby the river and began to peep. Suddenly, he saw a figure walking to his trap. He observed the figure and found that he was his friend, Dongkor. He was very surprised and decided to go nearer to see what Dongkor will do. He saw Dongkor was pouring the fishes on the stones but he did not have any plastic or container to place the fishes. Then, the man heard Dongkor talking to himself that he should take plastic from home. As Dongkor went back to take plastic from home, the trap owner went to see his trap. He was thinking of a way to deceive Dongkor. Luckily, he saw a millipede nearby and managed to cut the millipede into two pieces. He put the head of the millipede joining out from the mouth of a fish called Botuan and the other part of the body joining into the mouth of the fish. Thus, it seemed that there were millipedes coming out and entering the fishs mouth. After that, he left the place immediately and went to his hiding place. A few minutes later, Dongkor came with a big plastic that he managed to put the fishes inside it. He started to collect the fishes that he poured just now. Unluckily he was very surprised as he found the Botuan which millipede head was coming out from its mouth. Moreover, he saw the other part of the millipede was entering the mouth of the fish. Without thinking wisely, he ran away in scare. As Dongkor ran away, the trap owner came and collected his fishes. He was very satisfied because he had unfolded the mystery of his empty trap. In next day, the rumour about Botuan fish began spreading all over the village. The villagers were talking about it everywhere and many of them decided to not eat the Botuan fish anymore. Furthermore, the trap owner did not tell the villagers about the truth. He just told the truth when he himself and Dongkor were in the old ages. However, many people still believed that there was a type of fish that can transform into millipede and this belief still popular among Dusunic people until now. Only the people who knew the truth will eat this type of fish.
