Calverts Best Business Group, Inc., founded in 2009 by Calvert County resident, Manish Dureja, is proud
to return with an updated Calverts Best Business directory. It features all the local businesses voted as
favorites in our 2013 survey, ranging from antique stores and art galleries to best welding and window
services. Its the ultimate guide to buying local and supporting hometown businesses.
This year, Calverts Best is made possible through a partnership with Diane Burr and Bayside Partners,
LLC, publishers of the Chesapeake Current, Chesapeake Current Cuisine, and Chesapeake Bay Tripper. These
are the only locally-owned and operated media resources in Calvert County, and are published out of North
Beach, MD.
Manish Dureja is a University of Maryland Smith School of Business alumni. A graduate of Northern High
School, he was a member of the FBLA program and an Academy of Finance graduate. He owns several small
businesses in the area.
Diane Burr is President of the Bay Business Group (BBG), and a member of the North Beach Parks
Commission. Diane earned a Masters degree in Management from the University of Maryland (UMUC) and two
bachelors degrees, one in Management and the other in Psychology. She worked in the national news media
for many years, and also was a Principal in Client Development at a global consulting firm in Washington DC
for over nine years. She founded the Chesapeake Current in 2010.

Ballot Rules
1. All entries must be made on official Calverts Best Business Awards
official ballot website.
2. Entrant must fill out at least 25% or 45 of the categories.
3. Online submission will be allowed per one IP Address.
4. One entry per person. Ballot has to be filled out and completed by the
actual entrant.
5. You must be 18 or older to participate. Must have a valid US Driver's
License.
6. Entrant must reside in Calvert County for a period of one or more years.
7. All completed ballots must have been submitted online by Sunday,
March 31, 2013.
8. Winning prizes were drawn on Monday, April 8 from elected Calverts
Best official. Drawing will be witnessed by at least two other
individuals.
9. All entrants agree to Calverts Best Business Awards publishing their
name and photograph without additional compensation.
10. Prize winners are published in the Calverts Best Business Book
2013 publication.
11. Calverts Best Business Awards' employees or members are able to
vote if qualified but will not be eligible for the prize drawings.
12. Individual/businesses found to be submitting multiple or fraudulent
ballots will be disqualified from winning any prize or designation of
Calverts Best.
13. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase necessary. All entries are
the property of The Best Business Group, Inc, doing business as,
Calverts Best Business Awards. Judges decisions are final.
14. All above rules will be strictly enforced. The Calverts Best Business
Awards reserves the right to disqualify ballots that are questionable,
submitted inappropriately or illegible.
