AIM: To understand the principles of mechanics of fluids and to give knowledge on fluid machineries pertaining to various applications OBJECTIVES: To cover the basic principles and equations of fluid mechanics. To recognize the various types of fluid flow problems encountered in practice. Dimensional analysis will develop a better understanding of dimensions, units, dimensional homogeneity, identification of non-dimensional parameters and dynamic similarity in experimental modeling. Study of Turbomachinery will help to give the knowledge of various types of pumps and turbines and how they work UNIT I INTRODUCTION AND STATICS 9+3 Units & Dimensions.
