Canada's Government Apology To First Nations- Bears Witness As Evidence Of The Truth Aris-Arnelle Durocher Published on: Jan

19, 2012 There was also a debate with a couple of people one day about Canada's Government apology to First Nations. One person said " So they apologized. Another person said, that was no apology. My response to this and them, I want it out there for people to reflect upon the true meaning of the apology. First of all put aside for a moment how you personally feel about the apology, if it came to late, if it were not heartfelt enough. This is the way I see the apology to First Nations in Canada for Residential School Abuse. It in fact is a bonafide, legal, well documented, undeniable proof of claim by First nations. It is indeed factual evidence in history and in files across North America and in Parliament as well in court documents. It is indeed a legal testimony by Canada's Government enshrined in judicial and legislative acknowledgment of the genocide/cultural genocide that was bestowed on First Nations in Canada After this apology was issued... No more could anyone, anywhere EVER dispute or say Give me Proof that this horrible abuse happened to First Nations. I know I have written about First nations abuse with the Governments and Churches and had people comment, ( non-natives) it is NOT true, where is the proof. Well ladies and gents that apology is the proof! There is no way anyone would have gotten the Federal Government of Canada to admit and apologize for the abuse of First Nations for 151 years if they did not have before them factual documented evidence aside from the stories related from the peoples. It means the Government and all Federal Government parties as well as legal professionals reviewed documents of evidence most likely from Church and Government archived files and records and concluded that this was the truth. This apology bears witness to the truth of the grave abuse that First Nations Peoples suffered from institutionalized child abuse systems such as the Church and Crimes of the Church. It solidified it and whats more: The apology at the very least covered every area of the abuse. They all apologized and acknowledged for the sexual abuse, the emotional abuse, the physical abuse bestowed on First Nations children, that children were forced from their homes, that the Government and Churches stole First Nations children from their parents. That Children had died from the abuse and neglect in Residential Schools. If anyone notes Steven Harper in his address covered the death of First Nations Residential School Victims in two areas. He said that some children died and some didn't return home. This signified to me that he was admitting and apologizing that some of the children died from other abuses and disease and the ones that did not return home died from murder. He covered both areas in my opinion. They all acknowledged that and the fact of why First Nations communities struggle today. At the very least that is what the Apology represents " The Truth" which annihilated manufactured history of First Nations being the bad people and the Supreme dominant society being the good people.

It shook the very foundations of the Christian Religions a religious order that dominated the Western Hemisphere in North America and in every other country in the world. A religious organization who had long dominated itself in culture of being the only religion to hail. It opened up First Nations to be able to come forward , not to just talk about their personal experience but to start on a long road to healing. It also opened up other peoples to be able to come forward in other countries and talk about the same abuse they suffered by the same Churches and their Government. So the next time someone wants to say So! Please think of what it really represents. Because people are not aware as some of you know. It is an apology that cannot be ignored or dismissed as untrue. If anyone should say to anyone that is discussing this abuse, PROVE IT, all you have to do is put up that video of Canada's Governments apology. I will give you a good example, the very first time I put up this video on a forum in a wild debate, with people that were unaware and arguing that it was all fiction. Once these people viewed the video they were so shocked, they were upset and they were angry that this was hidden. For the first time they started to understand just a little the plight of what happened to First Nations. Understanding doesn't happen all in one day, it takes time. Educating the masses on real history and truth is my desire. So it will NEVER happen again to First Nations or any other peoples across the world. Lastly that apology only came after 151 years. Some First Nations Victims do accept the apology, some do not, some don't think it was good enough, others are waiting to see how the Government proceeds in full reconciliation to First Nations through their actions today. That is up to each person to how they feel about it. Yet the apology bears full witness to the evidence and proof of the truth, which can NEVER be taken back or ignored or denied. It was full confirmation of the truth! In fact it cannot even be debated of whether it is the truth or not anymore. That is the way I see that apology that was heard across Canada! That is what this apology meant to me! If that apology for some people hasn't done anything at all for them, it has least bore witness to the truth as evidence and proof of the violent history, cruel inhumane treatment and human rights violations bestowed on the Indigenous in Canada by the christian churches, governments & other dominant Institutions!
