Students Previous knowledge Students enjoy listening to animal stories, after listening to it they tend to retell in their own words to mom or little brother. Children like repetitive phrases and often join in when teacher retells story. Children can read small words by breaking individual sound. Children have learnt to sound out blends like; am, ma, as, sa, in infant 1.

Lesson objective(s) Students will: - predict outcomes of familiar, repetitive stories presented orally. -Use complete sentences of five or more words to express ideas - Pronounce the majority of phonetically spelt, one and two syllable words, correctly.

. Suggested Activities/Procedures Introduction (3 to 5 minutes) Ask students to name and describe kinds of animals they have at home. Procedures: (30 minutes): Have children listen as teacher reads the story The Three Little Pigs with expression.

Lesson Content: CS.5 Respond to Spoken Text 5.3: Predict outcomes of familiar, repetitive stories presented orally. Repetitive phrases help students to predict outcome.

CS.9 Express Opinions and Communicate ideas 9.2: Use complete sentences of five or more words to express ideas, preferences and needs. Ideas are mental image thought. CS.25 Read Aloud 25.8: Pronounce the majority of phonetically spelt, one and two syllable words, correctly. Syllables are vowel or vowel with consonants uttered as a unit.

Skill: memorizing, drawing, coloring, and clapping. Attitude: interest in wanting to retell Closure & culmination: (10 mins) Show video clip on Three Little Pigs the story on their own

Reread story, put emphasis on repetitive phrase. Ask students to join in and help teacher read the story with expression. Discuss story, thoroughly, ask oral questions to individual students. Use pictures from big story book for students to express their idea and retell story on their own words, may use exact words, especially repetitive phrases, from story. Start by assigning 2 students to start then ask for atleast 2 more volunteers. Present 2 syllable words from story on flashcards. Explain that words can be read by parts. Teacher reads each word slowly and asks students to clap for each part (syllable) they hear. Ask children to read words by parts and then fast as one.

Assessment Strategies: Oral questions based on video clip shown. -What animals were involved in the story? -How many pigs were there? -Why did pigs build their house? -What material did first pig used? Same question for 2nd and 3rd pig. -What happened to pigs? -What did wolf said at each house? -What happened to wolf? Show words from flashcard and ask individual students to read by clearly differentiating parts. -use examples and non-examples of 2 syllable words and ask students to clap twice if the word does have 2 syllables.
