MINUTES BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY PLANNERS Teleconference Call on May 9, 2013

1. Call to Order Chair Tim Brown convened the regular meeting at 2:38 pm (Eastern Time). 2. Roll Call Members present were Tim Brown, Judy Francis, Mike Kayes, Megan Nelms, Mike Harper, Dennis Sandquist, Tracy Hegler, Gail McKillop (for Keith Cubic), Jacqui Kamp, Adriana Trujillo, Charlie Compton, and Joe Scorcio. Robert Hill, Royce Maniko and James Davenport were excused. A quorum was confirmed. 3. Minutes of the March 7, 2013 Teleconference Scorcio moved, seconded by Harper to approve the minutes as presented. 4. Finance Report Treasurer Harper provided the current NACP financial report. Following the deposit of the ESRI donation, the current balance is 1763.68. No additional expenses are anticipated before the end of Fiscal Year (June 30th). Scorcio moved and Helms seconded to accept the financial report. The motion passed unanimously. 5. 2013 Renewal Notices Harper will be working with Hegler to get the next renewal notices and outreach information sent out to current and past NACP members. They will work out the details and report back at the next meeting. 6. Update on NACo Annual Conference Sandquist summarized the upcoming conference in Fort Worth in late July. As Francis cannot get financial support from her organization, Sandquist has volunteered to continue to serve through this year and then into the next year. Scorcio moved to appoint Sandquist to continue as the NACP designated liaison to NACo for the next year, Harper seconded. The motion was approved unanimously. Sandquist has been working with the EELU Committee to secure a session on land use planning. He is working to find some speakers from both NACP and APA County Planning Division. Hill and Sandquist will be attending. Compton is likely to be there as well. Sandquist has been in contact with NACo administration regarding continued NACo staff support in light of Davenports departure. Discussion occurred regarding topics and issues Sandquist will convey to NACo that have been previously supported by Davenport, and need to continue to receive NACo support. 7. Other Business Harper noted that NACP is not a currently a IRS 501(c)(3) or (c)(6). Consensus was that additional exploration of the question would be worthwhile. He will report at the July meeting. Compton will

look into the Board process and new coordinators so that we can make the necessary appointments at the next meeting. 8. Next Executive Committee Meeting Date and Time The next conference call will be Thursday, July 11, 2013 immediately following the 2:00 pm (Eastern Time) CPD Executive Committee meeting. 9. Adjournment The NACP meeting was adjourned at 3:11 pm (Eastern Time).
