The Scott Campbell Trio to Headline the Saturday in the Park August Concert Event Hosted by the Downtown Tallahassee Business Association & Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority
Tallahassee, Fla. The Downtown Tallahassee Business Association (DTBA) and the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority (TDIA) will host the fifth jazz concert in their 2013 Saturday in the Park Concert Series on Saturday, August 3, 2013, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EDT in Ponce de Leon Park, Tallahassee. Headlining this months event will be The Scott Campbell Trio featuring Randy Barnhill, Leon Anderson and Avis Berry. The Saturday in the Park Concert Series is free and open to the public. The Scott Campbell Trio includes three of the most versatile, capable and respected players in the region. The trio is rooted deep in the music of the South from jazz, funk, country and gospel, and creates music intended to move the body and raise the spirit. Barnhill is gifted in double bass and electric bass guitar within jazz, funk, R&B and rock. Andersons formidable drum technique demonstrates his effortless sense of time and groove. Berrys classically-trained gospel voice, combined with her positive spirit, conveys a feeling of joy.
