Thank you
Hello from the Grubers! We hope this finds you well and enjoying your summer! My words will fall short in adequately thanking all of you for your prayers and your continued financial support. God has provided abundantly through your obedience both in your giving and in your encouragement of this new adventure for our family. Since starting with CFT in December of 2012 the Lord has been overwhelming us with His power and love in our lives. Not only through His work at CFT, which I am honored to be a part of, but He has also provided many opportunities for us to trust Him and rely on Him throughout this entire summer (more on that soon!) We are so blessed to have so many people around us who love us, believe in us, and have been willing to come alongside of us in so many ways.

Our summer at the lake!

We are blessed to have a place on the lake to go and have fun through the summer time! We all have a blast, swimming, tubing, eating great food and being together as a family! Jakob will start kindergarten in the fall, so we are enjoying our long, slow and fun days together!

Summer 2013

Safe and Secure

Our Advanced Discipleship Training (ADT) program trains believers in how to truly enjoy an intimate relationship with their Heavenly Father, and how to disciple others to do the same. Below is a glimpse into one students learning experience.
One of the things the Lord is revealing to me during this ADT has to do with my flesh pattern of trying to protect myself. As I was growing up I experienced different episodes of strife and fighting of not being safe in the home. During these times I felt very scared, unsafe, unprotected, vulnerable. Life felt out of control. I made a vow that when I got big I was going to be in control of my life and these things wouldnt happen anymore. I would be safe and secure once I had the power to make my own decisions and control my own life. I made that vow before I knew Christ. Now that I am His, He is showing me that He is my Strong Tower, my Rock and Fortress, my Protector and Deliverer. He is the Almighty Warrior who keeps me safe and secure. When I begin to feel unsafe, unprotected, and vulnerable, He reminds me of the truth, and the truth is what He says about me. He says that I am safe in Him. He says that my life is in His hands and He is in control. He says I am protected by Him and He will take care of me and every need that I have. He is always present and nothing escapes His notice. The great exchange of the lies (Im not safe) for the truth (He is protecting me) is setting me free. He said, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. Sure does. Thank You, Lord.

His heart, my heart

It is a despairing feeling when there doesnt seem to be a solution to a problem. The belief that the crisis will, in fact, not give way to an answer. That behind the fear, anxiety, and pain there wont be any peace, hope or relief. Hopelessness and the anguish of overwhelming, crushing doubt; In the midst of each heartache, in the middle of every broken relationship, while in the throws of each war we wage in this life, there seems to be very little hope, no answers to our questions. I have been given the distinct honor of being entrusted with stories, personal stories, that depict scenes of loss, betrayal, disillusionment, and deep hurts. Their stories carry with them a question that is usually laid bare, in all its pleading, do you have the answer? Since joining CFT I have been offered example after example of how this living God meets people in their tragedy and confusion. I am always amazed at how He uses a word, a scripture, or a diagram to reveal Himself. And when we encounter a living God we walk away changed, filled with hope. There is no special formula, no secret, just truth, just love. A listening ear and an invitation into the Word of God, which carries with it a message of no condemnation and complete acceptance, He softens hearts and causes rest. His hope, given to us through Christ, firmly affixes us to His heart, His joy, and though the rhythm of life is unsteady and irregular, He is sure. More than once I have watched questions turn to assurance, seeking turn to discovery and darkness turn to light, all by the power of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. There are no words to express my gratitude to my Savior for giving me this time to experience Him through serving others at CFT.

Will you prayerfully consider partnering with me in ministry?
