Source of Water Supply Description: The source of water supply refers to the process or activity by which water is provided

for some use such as to a home, factory, or business (encyclopedia, 2006). It can be categorized into level 1, level 2, and level 3. Level 1 is a point source which is a protected well or developed spring with an outlet but without distribution system, generally adaptable for rural areas. Level 2 is a communal faucet system or stand posts which is a system composed of a source, a reservoir, a piped distribution network and communal faucets. Level 3 is a waterworks systems or an individual house connection which is a system with a source, a reservoir, a piped distribution network and household taps. Interpretation: The figure above shows that the source of water supply at E. Ramos Drive, Barangay 168 Caloocan City of the surveyed families is predominantly categorized as Level III with a frequency distribution of 63.33%. While the remaining part of the given pie chart from the figure above is categorized at level II with a computed frequency distribution of 37%. This show case that 19 families from barangay 168 get their main their source of water from a source, a reservoir, a piped distribution network, and household taps. Furthermore, only 11 families surveyed at E. Ramos Drive, Barangay 168, acquire their source of water from a system composed of a source, reservoir, a piped distribution network, and communal faucets with the percentage of 36.67% are the families that their source of water is coming from Level 2 which is communal faucet. Analysis: Most of the families surveyed at Barangay 168, showed that their source of water supply is from water works systems wherein residents water come from Nawasa and Maynilad due to more accessible source of water. In addition, figure which shows the length of residency that most of the families stayed at the area more than 30 years therefore this figure shows that the frequency distribution of 97% of permanent residency or a family of 30 who resided at the area for a long time, this implies that their length of residency is related having an accessible source of water supply which is Level III. Moreover, as found in figure in occupational status that 53.25% are employed, thus, their meager amount of money from their employed jobs will help in paying from more decent water source which is solidify for the figure of 63.33% of families having an access of Level III as a means of getting their drinking needs. Some of the residents water is distributed through communal faucet because it is less expensive than level 3. Source

Sanitation Method for Drinking Water

Description Sanitation method of drinking water refers to ways of making water potable. Boiling is the most effective way in killing all the vegetative bacteria, viruses, and fungi wherein the water is boiled for at least 2 minutes more after reaching boiling point of 100 degrees. Filtration requires no electricity and usually used to separate particles and fluid. Sedimentation is a method wherein the impurities in water are allowed to settled at the bottom of the container for 30 minutes- 1 hour and pouring the top part in a new clean container without creating turbulence. Flocculation and sedimentation is a method that uses aluminum sulfate (tawas) to form precipitates of the impurities found in the turbid water and allowing them to settle at the bottom of the container. Aeration is a sanitation method that transfers water from one container to another or by stirring water. Chemical disinfection is a purification process that kills or removes biological contaminants. Buying commercially prepared water refers to the container water that comes from stores. Data was obtained through surveyed. Interpretation: The table shows that there were 57 % or 17 Families that are using of commercially prepared water, 40% or 12 families are using of boiling method in sanitation of water and 3% or 1 family is using filtration. Analysis Data shows that out of 30 families 57% or 17 families buy commercially prepared water wherein less effort and the availability. On the other hand, 12 families use boiling method because it is safest and surest way in getting drinking water. 1 family stated that they use filtration as a sanitation method of water.

Prioritization of expenditures Description Prioritization of expenditures refers to the rankings of the budget of how much the family is willing to spend on health care, food, education etc.

Interpretation: The table shows the ranking of how much the families give prioritization on the ff. expenditures. The highest score is 197 which is Food and the lowest score is 4 which refer to other expenses. Analysis: Based on Maslow Hierarchy of needs, once a need is satisfied, the next level emerges as a motivator. It explains that the families prioritize food because it the most important and the basic needs in order them to live before other expenses.
