OBJECTIVE 1. To determine and calculate the velocity and acceleration of the rolling ball 2. To determine and calculate the average velocity and average acceleration of the rolling ball

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Uniformly Accelerated Motion is the motion of a point such that its tangential acceleration w is constant. In the case of uniformly accelerated rectilinear motion, the points acceleration w is constant. The speed of the point t is sec after uniform acceleration begins and the points distance s from its initial position are determined for uniformly accelerated motion by the equations.

MATERIALS Rectangular table Meter stick Pencil Cell phone Piece of wood Marble

PROCEDURE 1.) There are three given distance (75 cm, 95 cm and 115 cm). Using a pencil and meter stick, mark the rectangular table and assign those three distances that are being given. 2.) Three trials will be performed to each distance by rolling the marble. 3.) At the exact release of the marble, start the timer. 4.) Upon reaching the edge of the rectangular table, stop the timer so that you will be able to get its time. 5.) After those three trials performed with each given distance. Determine and calculate its average time.

INTERPRETATION Based on the table, it is clearly seen that in the distance of 75 cm and 95 cm, the time was increasing while that of 115 cm was decreasing. Furthermore it shows that increasing time greatly affects the velocity causing it to decrease. Acceleration also was affected because decreasing velocity result to decreasing acceleration. Now it is clear that time and velocity is inversely proportional with each other.

CONCLUSION I therefore conclude that the inclination of the table by 30 degrees greatly affects the time, velocity, and acceleration of the rolling marble. If you try to apply the concept of the uniformly accelerated motion on the experiment performed, it can be inferred that in order to sustain a greater or higher velocity and acceleration, there must be also a greater inclination or slope on the surface of the table.

RECOMMENDATION In the course of performing the experiment, I had observed that there was a lot of discrepancy occurred especially in releasing the marble. Therefore I suggest that in performing again the experiment, it will be better if we use a tool that can hold the marble. This is a great help for everybody to attain precision, accuracy in their results, and to avoid consuming a lot of time in performing it.

SAMPLE PROBLEM A car starts from rest and is given a constant acceleration of 10 meters per second for a total time of 5 seconds. Find the velocity at the end of 5 seconds .How far does it go during the first second? What is the displacement after 5 seconds?
