Whats on this year?

Visitors are invited to grab a slice of the Big Cheese action and join in the fun at the Friday night opening celebrations, which kick off at 3pm with a funfair, musical entertainment, Great Cheese Race and fantastic fireworks display. The traditional funfair will open at 3pm for all to enjoy, whether visitors to the festival are looking for a thrill on the white-knuckle rides, a magical time on the carousel or even a go at winning a teddy, there is something for everyone. At 6pm the music marquee will open to bring revellers the best of Welsh musical entertainment from local groups with a blend of music including folk, blues & rock. Rolling onto 6.30pm, one of the main highlights of the weekend is the Great Cheese Race, which is a real truckle of laughs for both competitors and spectators. Set in the outskirts of Caerphilly Castle, adult and junior teams will be cheered on a relay course, whilst carrying some cheese.
