Component: Dangerous Goods Management

You use EH&S Dangerous Goods Management and upgrade to SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM 1.10 or
PLM 2.00 or to SAP ERP 2004 or SAP ERP 2005/ERP 6.0.
Due to this, the release level of SAP EH&S increases accordingly.

After the upgrade, various problems occur in Dangerous Goods Management.

Contents
1. You cannot find EH&S in the SAP menu.
2. Customizing activities or transactions for/with United Nations (UN) numbers and dangerous
goods texts are missing.

3. The dangerous goods check does not run.

Menu entries and buttons in logistics transactions are grayed out.
4. The dangerous goods check does not find any master records, even though they exist.
5. No dangerous goods data is displayed on the delivery note or the output terminates.
6. Data is missing from the dangerous goods master dialog (data is not displayed) I
7. Data is missing from the dangerous goods master dialog (data is not displayed) II
8. The dangerous goods master record cannot be created.

The "Solution" section describes the problems and solutions in detail.

Reason and Prerequisites

Upgrade to R/3 Enterprise PLM or ERP

To be able to use EH&S in SAP R/3 Enterprise or ERP, you must activate the enhancement
switch EA-PLM. EH&S can operate without problems only if this switch is active.

Solution
1. You cannot find EH&S in the SAP menu.

Problem:
Chandu Kamisetty chandu.kamisetty@gmail.com
The entry for EH&S "Environment, Health and Safety" is missing from the SAP menu under
"Logistics".

Solution:
• Activate the switch for EA-PLM in the IMG activity "Activate SAP ECC Extensions".
For more information, see Notes
535003 for EH&S 3.1 (SAP R/3 Enterprise Extension Set 1.10)
666925 for EH&S 3.2 (SAP R/3 Enterprise Extension Set 2.00)
816806 for ECC 5.0, also valid for ECC 6.0
• If the EA-PLM switch is active, however the menu path is still not displayed, follow the
instructions contained in Note 855959.

2. Customizing activities, transactions for/with United Nations (UN) numbers and

dangerous goods texts are missing.

Problem:
The Customizing activities or transactions in which UN numbers and dangerous goods texts are
maintained no longer exist or you cannot start them.

Solution:
The data model has changed for some data in more recent EH&S versions. For example,
dangerous goods texts that were previously maintained in some transactions are now saved as
phrases.
The data must be converted. Note 692664 contains further information about this.

3. The dangerous goods check does not run.

Menu entries and buttons in logistics transactions are grayed out.

Problem:
When you save logistics documents (for example, a delivery), the dangerous goods check does
not run.
The pushbutton for starting the dangerous goods check manually is grayed out. Menu entries for
navigating to the dangerous goods master dialog are also grayed out.

Solution:
Activate the switch for EA-PLM in the IMG activity "Activate SAP ECC Extensions".

4. The dangerous goods check does not find any master records, even though they exist.

Problem:
The dangerous goods check in the logistics document runs, however it does not find any
dangerous goods master records even though they exist and are valid.

Solution:
In lower releases, the collective mode-of-transport category 99 contained all single mode-of-
transport categories.
If you have already used collective mode-of-transport categories, check the assignment of the
single mode-of-transport categories to the collective mode-of-transport categories in
Customizing:
"Environment, Health & Safety -> Dangerous Goods Management -> Basic Data And Master
Data -> Common Settings -> Specify Collective Mode-of-Transport Categories".
You can also perform a Customizing comparison with EH&S standard Customizing for these
activities.
See Note 527925 for further information.

5. No dangerous goods data is displayed on the delivery note or the output terminates.

Problem:
You want to issue a delivery note for a delivery that contains dangerous goods items. The system
does not display any dangerous goods data in the document or the processing of the message
terminates.

Solution:
Activate the switch for EA-PLM in the IMG activity "Activate SAP ECC Extensions".
If the delivery was created before the switch was activated, open it in change mode and save it
again.

6. Data is missing from the dangerous goods master dialog (data is not displayed)

Problem:
In the dangerous goods master dialog (transactions DGP1, DGP2, DGP3), the system does not
display data even though it was maintained in an earlier release and is still available on the
database.
Example: Dangerous goods user-defined texts

Solution:
The data model has changed for some data in more recent EH&S versions. For example,
dangerous goods texts that were previously maintained in some transactions are now saved as
phrases.
The data must be converted. Note 692664 contains further information about this.
In the dangerous goods master, there are new fields that correspond to the new data model.
Phrases are created when the texts are converted. The phrase keys are entered in the new fields in
the dangerous goods master. The new fields are displayed in the dangerous goods master dialog.

7. Data is missing from the dangerous goods master dialog (data is not displayed) II

Problem:
The values of the fields
Excepted Quantity Inner Packaging (PAI)
Excepted Quantity Outer Packaging (PAO)
Chandu Kamisetty chandu.kamisetty@gmail.com
Excepted Quantity Gross Weight (PAGW)
Maximum Quantity per Package (PASI)
Multiplication Factor for Excepted Quantity (Unit 1.1.3.6) (MULRQ)
Limited Quantity (RELQ)

are not displayed in the dangerous goods master dialog (transactions DGP1, DGP2, DGP3) even
though they were maintained in an earlier release and are still available on the database.
This problem still occurs even if the dangerous goods master is filled again.

Solution:
In ERP 2005/ERP 6.0, indicators were added to the above value fields. These indicators display
whether or not a value has been set. During the upgrade, these indicators are not set even though
values exist.
Notes 1010878 and 964556, 1048850 describe the procedure.
The indicator fields must be entered in the checkbox structure for filling so that they are filled
from the specification database.

8. The dangerous goods master record cannot be created.

Problem:
When you create dangerous goods master records in the dangerous goods master dialog
(transaction DGP1) or during dangerous goods master filling (transaction DGE5), the system
issues error message DG129 or DG142. The dangerous goods master records are not created.

Solution:
Use transaction SNRO to check the current number level of the number ranges DG_RECN and
ESN_RECN. The current number level of ESN_RECN must be larger than the current number
level of the object DG_RECN. If this is not the case, the start value of the interval or
alternatively the current number level of ESN_RECN must be raised accordingly.
See Note 692664 for further information.
