Agenda of Meeting : 1. Speech by Head Of English Panel, Puan Nalini. 1.1. Puan Nalini expressed her appreciation to the teachers for attending the meeting. 2. English Panel activities for 2013. 2.1. The Mentor-Mentee programme will start at 7:35 a.m and the Year 6 pupils will be required to be in their classroom by 7:20 a.m. Each class will have a teacher as their mentor. Class monitors will be asked to get the books or materials from the teacher. 2.2. The Year 4, 5 and 6 teachers have to complete the item analysis of Test 1 (Paper 1) by 1st March 2013 and send it to Puan Nalini. 2.3. Teachers are required to send the examination question drafts to the Head of Panel a week earlier from the examination date. 2.4. The KSSR papers will be prepared according to the Banding System. Puan Subathra suggested to put the Name, Class, Banding, Instruction, Day and Date on the first page of the paper. 2.5. Teachers are required to update the Transit and Evidence Record. 2.6. Teachers must put some materials on the classrooms English Corner before the administrative personnel give some comments. The English Zone will have worksheets and colouring materials so that pupils will be attracted to that place. 2.7. The Learn A Word A Day programme will be done according to the schedule. Teachers are requested to give a copy of the word list with sentences to the Head of Panel for filing. The main focuses are vocabulary and verb from the topics that pupils learn. 2.8. Puan Nalini will be in-charge of the UPSR English Corner. During the Morning Wisdom activity, teachers can ask about what pupils have read at the English Corner. 2.9. The Language Carnival will be held on 13th April 2013 (Saturday). The teachers finalized the activities due to insufficient time to train the pupils. The Public Speaking contestant is Aishah Rahmat whereas the Story Telling contestants are Izati, Khairina and Iffah Najwa. 3. The SKSK Bookworms activity will be carried out to encourage pupils to read as many books as they can. After that they will get the reward from the teachers .The Year 6 pupils will be asked to carry the box of books and place it at Dewan Ibnu Sina. The pupils have to buy an exercise book which will serve as the reading record. 3.1. The DEAR Programme will start in March. A prefect will be assigned to ring the bell. 3.2. During the English Week, teachers will carry out Spelling Bee competition and the date will be announced later. Posters will be put up to promote this activity. 4. Other matters 4.1. Puan Nalini suggested that teachers may use resource books to prepare examination papers or worksheet.
