UNDER 16s WYNDHAMVALE V SANCTUARY LAKES We played at Sanctuary Lakes today in very windy conditions, Jason won the toss and we kicked with the wind which I thought was worth at least 6 or 7 goals. It was our first quarter that set up the win when we kicked 6 - 3 to nil. We put plenty of pressure on them and got in first for the ball. It was virtually impossible to score at the other end of the ground so it was important we kept up the pressure and restrict their scoring opportunities in the second. We managed this pretty well by keeping them to 3 - 7 for the quarter but we couldnt score. We went in at half time with a 14 point lead and needed to build on this if we were going to hang on and win the game. Sanctuary Lakes did a good job of restricting our scoring opportunities in the third quarter and we could only manage to increase our lead to 24 points at the last change. It was going to take a lot of guts and determination to hold onto our lead. Sanctuary Lakes came out hard and pushed us all the way but with some good teamwork and defence we hold on for a 3 point win. This was a great effort by all the team in very difficult conditions. we are still playing well and winning games even when we are missing players, which shows that everyone is contributing. Wyndhamvale 8 - 7 - 55 Sanctuary Lakes 7 - 10 - 52 Goals : Ayor 2, Jimmy, Dom, Rocket, Stefan, Carlos, Jason Best : Rocket, Ayor, Jason, Stefan, Mozza, Carlos, Jordyn, Huss. Thats all folks Bomber. Under 14s This week we faced Yarraville/Seddon at their home ground. This game was a must win game for us to secure 2nd spot on the ladder. Before coming out the boys were asked if they wanted this win or not. The 1st quarter we played against a strong wind and everyone was asked to MAN UP. The ball was moved around quickly by our opposition and our boys were pushing themselves to try and contain them. They opened the first quarter with 3 goals and 3 behinds, thanks to our backs shutting down their attack. Jordan Taylor was awarded a free in front and kicked our 1st goal which was soon followed up with another after some hard running by Joshua Mould. Great Effort By All. The 2nd quarter the boys were told to put the pressure on and kick goals. To their credit the boys kicked 5.5 to Yarravilles 0.1. Goals were netted by Joshua Mould 2, Jordan Taylor, Daniel Kimpton, Brenton Cox all getting 1 At the half time break the boys were asked again if they wanted this win or not. They were asked for this quarter to just run, run, run. Boys like Yates, BRob, Lucas, Jordan and Zeb were all putting their bodies on the line for their team. All this hard work by everyone on the field contained Yarraville to scoring only 2.2 . Though it was a scoreless quarter for us. The boys did what was asked of them. The final quarter we had a nice strong wind behind us which enabled us to kick another 3.3 Joshua 2, and Brenton 1 and once again Yarraville only managed 2 behinds. Great ground work from our on ballers and backs enabled our forwards to finish off their jobs and kick goals. HARD WORK gets GREAT RESULTS. Best: Mouldy, Brenton, Ky, Zeb, Youngie and Leathal Goals : Mouldy 5, Brenton 2, Jordo 2, and Sparrow 1 Under 12s Sorry boys, but there is no proper match report for this week, but I would like to thank every single one of you for your determination, courage and sportsmanship that you all displayed at todays game. It was just a real shame that you boys weren't being looked after by the umpires, and were being targeted by the opposition. Keep your heads up high. We still have two more weeks! Goals: Lachlan, James, Jake S. Best: Fantastic team effort by all. Thanks Boys! Charlie

Pascoe Vale 14-14= 98 def Wyndhamvale 1-0= 6

This was to be a real challenge, top team keeping everyone scoreless, wet track and short on numbers. I am very pleased to say that our girls never gave in. We chased, tackled and gave it everything the whole game. Our Choosing to kick against the wind in the first was unusual, but this had them under pressure while we were fresh and this caused them to hurry shots on goal, 3-7. Second quarter didnt see us get on the board, but there was nothing easy for them either. Our backline was under pressure th e whole time, even though the score was large Pascoe Vale had to work for everything. The last quarter was extremely even, contested ball all over the ground and we were still running hard. We finally got ourselves on the board, much to the disgust of opposition!! The most pleasing thing in the last was we kept them to 2-1 to our 1 goal. Overall we won the last quarter. So we had a very positive finish to a game we may have lost, but, found plenty to take heart from. The team work, camaraderie and confidence gained will be invaluable in the coming weeks. Great Work.

Our game next week is v Melton in Melton, this is our last as we have a bye before going into finals. Goal; Saunders Best; Bridget, Nicole, Jenna, Meghan, Andy, Anna
