Terrorism Kidnapping
The risk of terrorism or kidnapping is considered minimal. Low personnel exposure to areas of concern. Terrorism and kidnapping is likely to occur in country and identified in official country travel advice notices. Terrorist activity has taken place in country and local vicinity, but not directly targeted towards the company or employees. Kidnapping of employee has taken place, or a direct terrorist attack on the project or associated properties and facilities.

Political /Civil Unrest


Normal status of operation based on national working practices and political and economic status in country. Aware of potential risk due to political or civil unrest in country, no direct implication with the company or targeted against individuals. Local or national events start to escalate into civil unrest, or any other political event that prevents individuals working safely, or activities to proceed as normal. Major civil unrest has taken place and is causing major risk to the company or employees. May turn into long term hostilities or unrest between parties involved.

Personal Safety
General safety conditions in line with normal operational requirements. No significant risk exposure Safety conditions have deteriorated and emergency support facilities are limited. Safety conditions are deemed high risk, due to lack of emergency services and breakdown of basic infrastructure and facilities. Breakdown of governmental emergency services, security, and infrastructure facilities, effecting personal safety of employees.

Potential Actions
No additional controls or actions required to be taken. Risk management controls will be enforced. Employees will be required to comply with controls both on and off site. Restrictions placed on staff movement, or working hours may need to be considered, in addition to additional risk management controls. Emergency meeting held with Board and implementation of agreed risk management processes. Restrictions placed on staff movement and communications.
