GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF B.TECH SEVENTH SEMESTER SEMINAR
1. General guidelines i) A recent topic which has due significance in your field of engineering should be selected. ii) Three copies of the seminar report duly signed and certified by guide and HOD should be submitted before the date of presentation. iii) The duration of power point presentation is 15 minutes and there will be a review session for 5 minutes. iv) The seminar report should be printed in A4 sheets, soft-binded (White colour), the cover should be printed in black letters and the text for printing should be identical. The number of pages should not be less than 15. v) Use only Times New Roman font for the entire report, font size 12. vi) Begin each section in a new page. vii) Alignment for text- Justified. viii) Begin all paragraphs left justified. ix) Page numbers shall be given at the bottom middle of the page. x) No headers and footers needed. xi) References shall be numbered within [ ]. xii) Give reference number within [ ] for figures, photos, tables, sketches etc. xiii) Figures, tables, sketches and equations shall be center justified. xiv) Leave one line space after each paragraph. 2. Guidelines for arrangement of seminar report i) The seminar report should be arranged in the following sequence: TITLE PAGE CERTIFICATE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT ABSTRACT CONTENTS LIST OF FIGURES AND TABLES INTRODUCTION . . CONCLUSION SCOPE FOR FUTURE WORK REFERENCE

Title page: Refer the sample copy of the title page given at the end. Bonafide certificate: Refer the sample given. Acknowledgment: One page maximum. Start showing page numbers from this page onwards starting from i (Roman numerals, italics). Abstract: Do not exceed 1 page. Use 1.5 spacing with 12 Regular font. Table of contents: No need to show sub-sections in contents page. List of figures: Figures and tables are to be serially numbered with chapter number prefix. Eg. Figure 1.1 represents first figure in chapter 1, Figure 3.1 represents first figure in third chapter, etc. Similarly for table, Table 3.1, Table 5.6, etc. Figure no. and caption are to be given below the figure.

List of tables: Table no and title is to be given above the table (Horizontally centered). Figures and tables along with their captions are to be horizontally centered. Chapters: May be broadly divided into 3 parts, INTRODUCTION, chapters developing the main theme of the seminar, and finally the CONCLUSION. CHAPTER NAME - 16 Bold - All capitals - No underline - numbered as 1, 2, 3 etc. SECTION HEADINGS - 14 Bold - All capitals - No underline. Sections are to be numbered as 1.1, 1.2, . . , 2.1, 2.2, etc. Sub Section Headings - 12 Bold. Sub Sections are to be numbered as 1.1.1, 1.2.1, 2.1.1, 2.2.1,...etc. Equations- Equations are to be placed at center of the line and numbered with chapter number prefix placed at the right end in the line. When Microsoft Word is used, type the equations with equation editor. e.g.: = (1.2)
