Bio
John M. Miller, joined Maxwell Technologies in January 2006 as vice president advanced transportation applications. In this capacity he is responsible for business development and supports strategic marketing and product applications through systems level analysis, modeling, simulation and customer collaboration in emerging technical areas. Dr. Miller brings to Maxwell Technologies a systems perspective on energy storage technologies, their application in electric drive systems and works closely with the research, engineering and marketing sides of the company. He is a registered and practicing professional engineer since 1980, a Fellow of the IEEE, and IEEE Power Electronics Society distinguished lecturer and editorin-chief of Power Electronics Society magazine. His previous experience includes 18 years with Ford Motor Co. where he led product development programs for micro and mild hybrid vehicles before taking early retirement in 2002. Dr. Miller is a graduate of Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI and author/co-author of 3 books including Propulsion Systems for Hybrid Vehicles, IEE Press U.K., 2003
