My Own Language Learning Experience

A child's brain develops rapidly during the first five years of life, especially the first three years. It is a time of rapid cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional and motor development. For example, a child learns many words starting at around 1518 months.Everyone in this world has their own experience on how they learn to know the language. So do I. During my first three years, I learn by imitating the language that been talked by my parents. When I was a baby, I learn the language by hearing what the people around me talk and from there I begin to talk the language they used. Besides, sometimes they will sang to me some song so that I will easily go to sleep or when Im crying. This eventually helps me to gain more and more new words and improved my language bit by bit. Then when I was 5 years old, my parents sent me to the preschool near my house. This was one of the most interesting time that I had in my life because at this age is the first time I get to meet new friends. Although at the first day coming to the preschool makes me a bit nervous, but when at the preschool, I get to met a beautiful,kind-hearted and loving teacher that makes me want to go to the preschool. At the preschool I learn many new things about language. There I learn about different types of alphabets, how to spell it, how to pronounce it, and how to write it. At this age, I began to know how to spell a word correctly and recognize the object. From this age also my vocabulary and pronounciation had improved to a new level.

After finishing from preschool, I went to the the primary school at the age of 7 years old. My experience in primary school is not quite an interesting experience because the teacher that teaches me is not so beautiful and kind hearted like the teachers in the preschool. Eventhough theyre not like the teachers in the preschool but they had teaches me a lot. At school, I began to construct a simple sentence using the words that i learnt at the preschool. At this time also I began to improved on my reading skills. Before teaching, my teacher will always called a students to go in front of the class and read some paragraph from the short stories that she brought. This had helped me improved my reading and prouncing skills a lot. After that, I get to learn how to write a compound sentences. Before i sit for my UPSR examination, I had learn on how to write a proper stories and my language had improved rapidly after that.
