Sastry Karras Astrological Series Introduction

In this article, I will be emphasizing the astrological reasoning for the Uttarkhand disaster and the impact of transit Jupiter on Republic of Indias birth chart.

From 14 to 17 June 2013, the Indian state of Uttarakhand and adjoining area received heavy rainfall, which was about 375 percent more than the benchmark rainfall during a normal monsoon. This caused the melting of Chorabari Glacier at the height of 3800 metres, and eruption of the Mandakini River which led to heavy floods near Gobindghat, Kedar Dome, Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Western Nepal, and acute rainfall in other nearby regions of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Tibet.

While the 2nd house deals with cause of death, 6th house deals with diseases/public health, 8th house deals with large-scale losses of human life (death) and 12th house deals with Hospitals/temples/asylums/prisons. Natal Saturn (lord of 9 th house Dharmastanam) & Jupiter (lord of 8th and 11th houses) plays vital role in general. Thus the transit Saturn/Jupiter will be the one that activates the house features. Lord of 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 4th houses all cojoined in 3rd house along with Saturn.

According to Vimsottari Dasa, Sun lord of 4th house DASHA BEGINS THE DAY AFTER 20097-15 AND ENDS ON 2015-7-15. The antardasa during this unfortunate event was Sun/Mercury/Mercury. The antardasa Sun/Mercury will be until 2014-March.

According to Kalachakra Rashi Dasa, the period is Scorpio Pisces starting 2013-Jan and ending 2013-Nov. Ketu is residing in Scorpio with a direct aspect from Rahu, Jupiter is the lord of Pisces. Ketu symbolizes spirituality and Jupiter aspecting 12th house (which deals with temples), the impact was in a religious place.

According to Kalachakra Planetary Dasa,
2014-8-15. Mercury Dasa begins on: 2005-8-15 and ends on:

Mercury, lord of 2nd and 5th houses is cojoined with Saturn in 3rd house. 2nd

house deals with causes of death.

According to Bhrigu Chakra Paddathi, between 2012-8-15 and 2013-8-15, the Cycle
Ruler is Jupiter and the house impacted during this period is 6th , where Jupiter itself is residing. Thus the 8th house lord got double-powered to spoil the 6th house.

According to Dasapathi & Antardasapathi Dasa, Sun Balance Period starts on: 2010-815 and ends on : 2017-8-15. The AntarDasapati Period for Sun/Jupiter starts on: 2013-0-15
and ends on: 2013-7-15. Sun, lord of 4th house is cojoined with Saturn in 3rd house. 4th house deals with weather.

Transit Jupiters impact: Transit Jupiter entered Gemini (house owned by Mercury), 2nd house on Natal Chart in June 2013. Transit Jupiters 5th aspect is on Natal Jupiter (LIBRA - 6th house), transit Saturn & Rahu. Transit Jupiters 7th aspect is on 8th house (owned by Jupiter) and 9th aspect is on house owned by Saturn. Transit Jupiter is touching Mars (lord of 7th and 12th houses).

Transit Saturns impact:

Transit Saturn will be in LIBRA (house owned by Venus), 6th house on Natal Chart until Dec 2014. Natal Jupiter is residing here. Transit Saturns 3rd aspect is on house owned by Mercury. Transit Saturns 7th aspect is on 12th house (owned by Mars) and 10th aspect is on 3rd house owned by Moon and Saturn, Moon, Sun, Mercury and Venus are residing.

Transit Rahus impact:

Transit Rahu entered LIBRA (house owned by Venus), 6th house on Natal Chart in Dec 2013 and will be there until June 2014. Natal Jupiter is residing here. Transit Rahus 5th aspect is on 9th house owned by Saturn, its 7th aspect is on 12th house (owned by Mars) and 9th aspect is on 2nd house (owned by Mercury) where Natal Mars is residing and transit Jupiter is passing by.

The conclusion arrived is: 1. Transit Jupiters relationship with Natal Mars and transit Rahu had resulted in massive public health destruction a bit violent due to Mars impact and in a religious place since Mars is 12th house lord. 2. Transit Saturn and Natal Saturn further amplified the Jupiters destruction.
