Global Studies Education Abroad Scholarship.

Open to students planning a study abroad experience who have completed 30 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants must submit a brief statement explaining their plans to study abroad and how it might help them. Preference will be given to a student or students with a Global Studies declared degree plan or a student who plans on pursing an international type degree at a university. Financial need considered.* Dr. Bill May Fire Sciences and Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund. Open to students enrolled in the Fire Science Technology or Criminal Justice Programs who have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.* Single parents The Highland Womans Club Endowed Scholarship. Open to single parents, head of household, with dependent children, who are enrolled full-time at Jefferson and demonstrate financial need.* Must submit a copy of the most recent years tax filings. JCTC employees Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Horvath Academic Assistance Scholarship. Open to regular full-time Jefferson employees enrolled in courses at Jefferson with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Awards are given to offset the cost of education, including books, childcare and supplies. Applicants must submit a one-page essay describing their need. Children/grandchildren of JCTC employees Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Horvath Tuition Scholarship. Open to children and grandchildren of regular full-time Jefferson employees and to children and grandchildren of Jefferson retirees who A) are Jefferson applicants with a minimum 2.5 high school GPA, or B) are JCTC students who have completed at least 12 credit hours with a cumulative minimum 2.5 GPA. Current high school students must submit valid and dated high school transcript.

Children/grandchildren of PNC employees PNC Bank Scholarship. Open to new Jefferson students who can demonstrate, through previous academic achievements, a capability of doing college work; and/or current students with a maintained minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to employees of PNC Bank, or spouses and children of PNC Bank employees. Must submit a valid and date high school transcript. Must demonstrate financial need.* Two-year career program Philip Morris Career Scholarship. Open to Jefferson students who have not been enrolled in any school for at least the last 12 months. Must be enrolled in a two-year career program and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Must demonstrate financial need. * Textbooks Wandering Aengus Textbook Scholarship Open to students enrolled full-time (min. 12 credit hours) at JCTC who have earned a min. 3.0 GPA. Applicants must submit a brief statement of need to demonstrate and justify their request for financial assistance. For purposes of this scholarship, need does not have to be demonstrated by application to the federal student aid program (FAFSA).* PNC Bank Textbook Fund. Open to students enrolled full-time (min. of 12 cr. hrs.) at JCTC who have earned a min. 3.0 GPA. Transferring or incoming high school students must submit a valid transcript to verify GPA

1. Pick Up an application in the Student Information Center or Financial Aid office on any JCTC campus or print one from the Website, Jefferson.KCTCS.edu/scholarship 2. Complete the application after carefully reviewing eligibility requirements. 3. Submit the completed application(s) to the Student Information Center or Financial Aid Office by the posted deadline: March 1, 2013.

Healthcare

Robert (Bobby) Baumgardner Endowed Scholarship for Nursing. Open to JCTC students enrolled in the second year of the Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) Program and who have achieved a minimum 2.5 GPA. Anne Biven Nursing Textbook Fund. Provides funding toward books for one semester. Open to students enrolled in the Jefferson Associate Degree of Nursing program. Financial need considered.* Elizabeth Browning Adams Memorial Scholarship. Open to Nursing students with minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need and engage in regular community service. Norton Healthcare Scholarship. Open to students enrolled in Nursing or Allied Health programs. Dr. and Mrs. Matthew Schwab Scholarship Fund Open to students enrolled full-time in the Radiography Technology program who have achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA and have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic success. Financial need considered.*

Office Systems Technology

Imogene Kelly Memorial Scholarship. Open to Jefferson student enrolled in the Office Systems Technology (OST) program. Must have a 2.5 GPA, with at least 15 completed hours and demonstrated financial need.*

Jefferson Studio Art Scholarship. Open to an incoming freshman student who has achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 and has declared a major in Studio Art. The scholarship will be awarded based on a competitive art portfolio evaluation by the Jefferson Art Scholarship Committee. Rose Marie Crask Art History Scholarship. Open to students with a declared major in Art History and who have completed 30 hours of college credits with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate financial need.

Jefferson Community & Technical College Merit Scholarship. - Open to students who have completed 25 credit hours at Jefferson; must maintain a 3.5 GPA. KCTCS Commonwealth Scholarship. Est. award up to $1500/semester - Open to Kentucky residents, enrolled at least part-time and are current year, or high school graduates within the last two years, in the top quartile of their high school graduating class or who have an ACT score of 24 (or equivalent) and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.50. A valid and dated high school transcript must be attached to the application. KCTCS Presidential Scholarship. Est. award - $1500/ semester - Open to students at Jefferson who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Must demonstrate financial need.* Jefferson Jubilee Scholarship - Open to students currently enrolled in any area of study or on any campus who have achieved and maintained a 3.0 or greater GPA. Applicants must submit a 200-word essay describing their financial need. Preference will be given to students not receiving additional financial assistance.There also are Jefferson Jubilee Scholarships specifically for students enrolled in Healthcare or Business programs. All students meeting the criteria are encouraged to apply. John T. Smith Scholarship. Est. award - $500/ semester - Open to African-American Kentucky residents enrolled at Jefferson. Must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours during the semester of the award. Must demonstrate financial need.* T. Steve Yeager Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Open to currently enrolled, African-American students with 15 credit hours and a minimum 3.25 GPA. Preference given to students enrolled in a two-year technical program. Financial need considered.*

Enginneering or Industrial Chemical Technology


Lubrizol Foundation Scholarship. Open to students entering the Engineering Technology or Industrial Chemical Technology Programs in the upcoming fall semester and are currently in good academic standing. If you are a spring 2013 high school graduate or have not attended JCTC, you must submit a valid and dated transcript with your application.

Business

Education/Early Childhood Education

National City Bank Scholarship. Open to new Jefferson students who can demonstrate through previous academic achievements, a capability of doing college work; and/or current JCTC students with a maintained minimum 3.5 GPA. Preference is given to students pursuing a career in business. Students must submit a valid and dated high school transcript.

The Steinberg Family Scholarship.Open to students enrolled in a Social Science program with at least 24 completed credit hours and minimum 3.0 GPA.

Southwest Campus

The Pat Drago Memorial Scholarship. Open to students not enrolled in college for at least one year and whose primary campus of enrollment is the JCTC Southwest Campus. Financial need considered.*

Carrollton Campus

Barbara Plum Memorial Scholarship. Open to fulltime students enrolled in Early Childhood Education or part-time ECE students who have completed at least 9 credit hours and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Must demonstrate financial need.* Dr. Alice Howry James Memorial Scholarship. Open to students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Program. Must have completed at least 6 credit hours prior to application, must carry at least 9 credit hours during the semester of award, and have a career goal in education. N.O. Kimbler Memorial Scholarship. Fall Semester. Open to JCTC students pursuing a career in teaching. Must be a currently enrolled student with 25 JCTC credit hours, and have maintained a 3.0 GPA. Financial need considered.*

Automotive Technology

GLADA Automotive Technology Scholarship. Open to students enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at JCTC and have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and demonstrates financial need.

W.W. Grainger Scholarship. Open to students enrolled on the Carrollton Campus of JCTC who are enrolled in a technical degree program and have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need considered.*

Shelby County Campus

Shelby Energy Scholarship. Open to Jefferson students enrolled full-time at the JCTC Shelby County Campus. Must demonstrate financial need.*

Fine Arts

Phyllis Krantz Memorial Scholarship. Open to students with a declared major in Fine Arts. Must be currently enrolled with at least 15 credit hours completed, including 6 credit hours in studio art. Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants must submit a portfolio to be judged by faculty members in the Fine Arts program. Financial need considered.*

Chase Scholarship. Fall Semester - Open to new or current students who demonstrate through previous achievements a capability of doing college work. Current or former JCTC students must have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA. New students must submit a valid and dated high school transcript. Must demonstrate financial need.*
