These bouncing babies are cute as a buttonand the buttons are pretty cute too! Its easy to give each baby its own personality, through details like pacifiers, bows, jumper colors and facial features. The quilted cake behind the babies is an easy effect created with the Cutter/Embosser.

3-D BaBies 1. Cover craft block with waxed paper and pin block to a waxed papercovered board. Build babies against block, making all body parts before assembling. Roll 5 ball heads, 1 in. diameter, in natural pink fondant; flatten backs for babies with green, yellow and blue outfits. For outfits/ bodies, roll 11/8 in. diameter balls in each color, form a 11/4 in. long pear shape; for sleeping baby, form a 2 in. long pear shape. Indent sides with ball tool and mark stitching dots with craft knife. For green outfit baby, roll 5/8 in. ball short sleeves. For all arms and legs, roll 3/8 x 1 in. long logs; for legs, indent center for knee and back for heel, curve up end to form foot. Carve toes with knife. For all but green baby, roll 3/8 in. balls for hands; flatten and carve out notch for thumb and indent lines for fingers. For green outfit baby, flatten end of arm for hand and repeat procedure for fingers and thumbs. 2. Assemble using a damp brush. Position body then attach legs, sleeves/arms, hands and head to create various poses. Roll tiny ball for nose; attach with damp brush. Indent eye sockets with end of veining tool. Carve mouth with veining tool; smooth. 3. Roll small logs for collars. Use veining tool to create ruffles or notches; attach. For bow, roll a small pink ball; indent and shape into bow. Attach to head of crawling baby. Roll and attach small white and black balls for eyes and pupils. Indent lashes with craft knife. For ears, roll and flatten a tiny pink ball, cut in half, indent with veining tool and attach. For pacifier, roll and flatten a tiny white ball, roll another white ball and attach on top; attach to head. For hair, cut thin strips of brown fondant and attach. When cake is complete, attach babies with damp brush.
