Project Overview Objective and goal of the Project

1. Reducing GHG emission and obtaining credit from the JCM system, to reduce the operational cost 2. Reducing the fuel consumption by installing a energysaving system (Hy-brid renewable energy system with stable power supply) 3. Securing energy source at un-electrified areas 4.Enhancing the local employment and economy through partnership with the Japanese partners

Issues of the current power supply

Power Grid
Lack of the grid stability Tendency of price increase Indirect GHG emission from the power plants
Need for permission to the power company to use the grid power

Diesel Gen-Set
Very volatile diesel price Burden of operation and maintenance cost and human resources (exchange of oil, filter, etc.)
Direct GHG emission from the Gen-set Noise and air pollution

The control of power supply risk is one of the significant factors on very competitive BTS market
5

The features and benefits after installation of This System

Significant Cost Reduction
Renewable Energy can be acquired for free Influence by the fluctuation of oil market is none or very limited Very low operational cost Able to supply stable power endlessly to the BTS using the battery and PCS of Japanese quality and technology. Apply high output density storage battery designed for EV. No need to add water since valve regulated lead acid is used.

Stable Power Supply

Long-term Cost-effectiveness Environmentally friendly

Hybrid system can absorb the risks of the volatilities of renewable energies Long-term quality of each equipment (Japan quality is vital) Lower air pollution and noise Low emission of Greenhouse gas Less hazardous waste

Methodology
(1) Eligibility Criteria
Criteria Reduction of power consumption of the BTS from the existing supply by installing the hy-brid renewable energy system. Hy-brid renewable energy system hereby does not only mean the power system consisted of renewable energy system (such as solar power, wind power or micro hydro system), but it also consist a power controlling system which controls the whole power supply for that BTS, which optimizes the power supply to the BTS. Able to grasp the power consumption of that BTS which installs the hy-brid renewable energy system. Must be able to grasp the capacity, number and place of that BTS system to be installed.

Criteria

Criteria Criteria

Methodology
(2) Reference scenario setting
The power supplied to that BTS (existing or new) is supplied via non-renewable energy (i.e. at unelectrified areas from diesel gen-set, at electrified areas from the grid) If unelectrified areas shall be electrified during the project period, the emission amount based on the grid emission factor shall be the reference emission amount. If there shall be any quantified goal set for renewable energy to be supplied to the BTS during the project period, that goal shall be the reference scenario.

Methodology

How to diffuse the project

Japanese Entity
Cost down of the initial cost Make more effectiveness on the battery and PCS

Japanese Government

Make actions to the UNFCCC to get JCM approved Decide the CO2 cost and the market system

Indonesian Government Indonesian Entity

Assess the system as good practice (BPPT) Disseminate the system for telecommunication (KOMINFO)

Consider not only the initial cost but the operational cost for bidding Consider revenues from the JCM systems
