REDD+(plus)
REDD+(plus) : ( Source: ) Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation, and(plus) the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of forest carbon stocks
Summary
(1) CO2 emission reduction: 20,000 tCO2 x 5 projects = 100,000 tCO2/year (2) MRV as CO2 emission reduction measuring tool: MRV is useful for RAD-GRK in Sulawesi (3) Capacity Building for avoiding deforestation activity: Model Project helps Forestry Dept. to avoid deforestation (4) Incentives for maintaining forest : Subsidy or Carbon Credits from JCM/BOCM scheme (5) Safeguard and/or Incentive program : Japanese Solar Power System helps community livelihood
3
Model project helps Mind-Set of Corn Farmers: Corn agriculture -> other opportunities (Cacao, Afforestation,,,)

-1.3%/year (carbon stock base) By keeping forest with Bupati in 5 districts, 100,000 t CO2/year of carbon credits will be expected in Gorontalo and North Sulawesi.

Nested Approach
Model project will contribute to Ministry of Forestry, who develops Sub-National REDD+ project in Central Sulawesi.
Gorontalo Japan
Model Project will function as a part of Sub-National REDD+ project by Nested Approach in the near future.

Incentive of JCM/BOCM
Model project plans to consider Subsidy, or Carbon Credits in the future as incentive.
Matsushita Gobel Foundation has already provide a set of Solar Panels for a village (DTM) of immigrated people from deforestation area.
15
Japanese aid for Solar Power system is seriously expected. Model Project plans to support the community livelihood.
16
Implementation Stage
Now, the local governments are well prepared to implement Model Project with Japanese FS team.
