Draw a 2 X 4 using single line (the pencil shaped) tool (Note: a 2x4 isnt actually 2 X 4)
Close the component Draw a 2x4 stud on the sill plate after you have closed the component.
Select the stud and make it a component called stud. Select the stud, copy using move tool and CNTR button, move 16 and push enter, then immediately enter (x 10) and it will make 9 copies spaced 16 apart on center. Select the last stud, right click and make unique
Select move tool and put your cursor on the bottom right corner
Move stud to the left and put cursor on the corner, when you let go, those corners are lined up.
Using move tool and CTRL key, copy the stud and move it 3 to the left
Now draw random length 2x4s for blocking (spacers) between those two studs
Rotate the drawing around to the back and push/pull the 2x4 blocking to the back face of the frame
Close component Now draw a 2x4 box on top of the studs for one of the top plates and make it a component top plate
Push/pull to 12 long
Select the top plate and using the move tool and CTRL key, select the bottom left corner, copy and move up to make a double top plate
Now well make a 36 R/O (rough opening) for a door Using the tape measure tool, well go from the bottom corner up 84
Draw a line over to space the opening 24 from the left Make that a 2x4 Trimmer Stud
Select the right side stud, right click and make it unique
Draw a 4x4
Now select that stud, right click and chose edit component
Draw lines at the top of the 4x4 header and erase the bottom lines and close component
Now add a 2x4 sole plate at a right angle to the first wall
Select stud, right click and make it a component short wall stud
Copy using CTRL button, space at 16, push enter, then (x5) for five copies
Now put on the two top plates and put in a R/O for a 24 wide, 36 tall window using the same procedure as doing the rough opening for the door, the window will be centered side to side and the bottom of the window will be according to building code.
