PROLOGUE

My name is Paul Shola Oguntade, at this writing I am three years above two decades. And HONESTLY, I have lived a MAJOR part of these years DOING NOTHING. I grew up like everyone else; from suckling to crawling, crche, Kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, university; with a few other menus in between. Growing up I have always been a bright child, loved by everyone and well known in the schools I attended, and a star among the group. Good grades were common to me, though at no time did I top a class, but I was always doing well. Along the line I did some paint works, I also wrote a drama that was presented at an organisation I once worked with. I've had articles written, some published and some not published. At a point I wanted to be in the banking sector, at another I started considering rap music, later it was to become an electrical and electronics engineer. I have had so many dreams, I had sometimes decided to go into book writing; first it was academic books, then religious books, then novels. All along I had been having movement of some sort. Talking about IDENTITY CRISIS, I have had a good share of it. PEER PRESSURE, LOW-SELF ESTEEM, UrbanCulture and its DISTRACTIONS, you name it; I have been there before. Looking back I am grateful for those times. Now I empathize instead of castigating young folks who still linger in that state or even adults in their 30s and 40s with a marriage, some kids and wonderful living apartment, a good job, pays and pecks inclusive. For these folks, SELF-DISCOVERY or SELF-IDENTITY is not available. And so they just exist to survive, they range from the very broke individuals to the very rich of the society. As annoying as it may seem this is the truth about most of the everyday men and women we interact with in the society. For me SELF-DISCOVERY came quite late. It all started when I was getting tired with the result I have gotten over time, and how directionless I was moving. If you asked me what my dreams are, I would not know which of the many desires I should recite to you. To make matters worse I had many influences dictating to me what should be the 'right' thing to do with my life; parents, peers, society, media, heroes, heroines, elders and statesmen, school teachers, school books, and school grades, prophets and sages- everyone had something to say. Because I was tired and was already getting claustrophobic about my state, I started to seek answers; from books, older folks, 'fathers and mothers', everyone and everything I could turn to. So many words, semantics and synonyms came my way or should I say I came across them as I searched. Words like DESTINY, PURPOSE, VISION, MISSION, GOALS, CALLING, PREDESTINATION, DREAMS, LIFE, and AMBITION and so on. I read many authors, each one having his/her own perspective about these words, at a point they all would make sense, at another point, I began to get confused again. Some told me about my talents, others talked about passion, a burden, a need, an inner voice, predestination, a call. The indicators are many and I can't recall all now. Each time, the indicators would make sense until I come across another, then I am back to square one again.

PROLOGUE

All these made me ask the question every sane man had asked himself/herself at one point or the other in his life. How we have individually phrased the question could have varied but the intent is the same. So I asked myself, WHAT IS THE GOAL OF MY LIFE, or rather WHAT IS THE GOAL OF LIFE in general. I knew I needed a holistic understanding of the whole picture in order to know where and how I fit in. If you have been as inquisitive as I have been, you would have gotten answers that could have all together succeeded in confusing you today. I not am writing a critic to others expressions, all I am doing here is to share with you my experience and what I have discovered. So here it is; in this e-book I have decided to title THE GOAL-the history of every thing and what matters most, I would share with you my discovery on life's most important question. I do not plan to add to the list of answers we already have on bookshelves and MP3 CDs, NO! What I am here to do is to paint the WHOLE PICTURE and then allow you to go ahead to make your decisions about life. I DO NOT HAVE A FORMULA TO GIVE! At the end of this e-book, I would have succeeded not to tell you what to do with your life, or how you should define your life. What would happen is that I would reveal to you the course of life, and allow your God-given conscience to point the direction in which you should go.

THREE THOUGHTS THOUGHTS THOUG THOUGHTS

THOUGHTSTHOUGHT THOUGHTS

#1.THE TOP
I will make it to the TOP I want to be at the TOP The TOP is my place. Words like this and many more characterize the goal and sayings of many.

The top however is yet to be defined, I mean if we talk about the top, then with what scale do we measure the top; what indicator(s) defines the top?

The top can be anywhere!

There are millionaires in Nigeria, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. They all claim to be at the top, measure them and their asset value, they are not the same and this is the same with stars and achievers of the times, so then how do we place identification on the TOP.

There is no such thing as THE TOP!

The top to one person is a billion dollars, to another it is fame, influence or power. With this understanding we see that the top is defined by the individual and what holds as the top in their society. The proper question is; does that make every man's definition valid? The gang lord and the pimp both aim at the top and most times they get there.

THE TOP we were told of has no yard stick!

In America and the most part of the world, Obama is at the top, in the East, Osama got to the top, Michael Jackson got to the top, and Tiger Woods also got to the top. The friends and family of Mugabe believes that he got to the top, ask the Zimbabweans what they think.

#1.THE TOP
So what is your TOP?
Now you know it is vague and shallow to just say I want to be at the top. How do YOU define the top? Since THEY ALL (the good, the bad and the ugly) got to the top, which of the tops do you aim at, and how do you measure it?

There is got to be a compass then!

You would notice they had all gotten to the top based on some inner compass, value, criteria, template or whatever words could describe their guide. The gang lord wants something and he believes the means to an end doesn't matter, as far as you get it, the end justifies the means.

What exactly would do for a compass?

I can tell you many things, in fact there are volumes of materials that have described and dictated what things should be the basis of our actions. But right here, I would rather not suggest any; instead I would paint the WHOLE PICTURE so that your God-given conscience can direct you in the path that you should go.

#2.SUCCESS
To succeed is simply to achieve your goal(s).

By that definition the gang lord, Tiger Woods, Osama, Obama, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Mugabe, are all successful.

So how do you place your own success?

The same thing applies, there is a compass, and the protocol of that compass is determined by your understanding of the WHOLE PICTURE. This is your world view, and it might not necessarily be the truth. Your opinion is always peculiar, and so is mine. Hence we have all defined being successful differently, even when there are similarities, they are only variant definitions. However you would agree with me that there must be a goal, a central and universal purpose; the type that gives meaning to all other goals and purposes; an umbrella type of purpose. I mean every man cannot just be running his own script without there being an overall one. There has to be a big picture, a jig-saw puzzle, where all the parts could come together to form a whole. Don't you question, why we have to fall in love, get married have sex and bear children to raise a family, or even why there has to be a possibility for falling in love. Do you question why we have to go to school, and graduate to start up a career? We have different roles in life; there is the parent, the father, the governor, the president, the citizen, the teacher, the student, the author, the reader, the taxi man, the passenger, the cleaner, the CEO, the painter, the art collector, the entertainer, the audience, the sport man, the spectator, the preacher, the congregation, the priest, the worshipper, the nanny, the kindergarten, the tailor, the sales man, the customer, the bank manager, the debt collector, the tax collector, the employee, the employer, the criminal, the judge, the lawyer, the warder, the hangman, the morgue man, the coffin maker, the undertakers, the family, the society, the community, the press, the journalists, the sectors, the UN bodies, the conferences, the board room meetings, the news, the army, the scientist, the doctor, the assassin, the book and the writer The list is unending, but do you ever question how all these roles fit or should make sense in the long run, or why should some of them ever exist. With or without them, shouldn't we be good to go?

#3. HUMAN-BEINGS AND ANIMAL-BEINGS

I like the scripture that said in Psalm 82:6 ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. another is Jesus' response to Satan in Matthew 4, when he said man shall not live by bread alone and also the injunction given to us after creation in Genesis 1:28. They all bring to consciousness a better perspective towards man's existence. Contrary to the popular opinion of biological science, man is beyond being an animal, a mammal and a primate. Man is essentially a spiritual being that possess a soul and lives in a body. This book is based on a living that is beyond the animal plane. We have needs; biological, psychological, social, material and economic, and spiritual needs. Any other category could be brought under these major ones. And to a very large extent these needs are very important and must be met. In fact I think it is in the pursuit of these needs that people do what they do; the good, the bad and the ugly inclusive. Animals, as in others asides humans, have biological needs, they have psychological needs, and they have (to some extent) social needs. Embedded in these needs are their needs for survival, rest, security, reproduction, and total well being. An animal that tears a four years old child into shreds is not being wicked; it is just being itself, ensuring its needs are met, nothing more, and no hard feelings. To the animal, life is all about survival. So it goes through the cycle of feeding, play, security, reproduction, and some community. You and I have something more to our makeup. We possess complexities such as; emotions, psyche, superintellect, love, faith, hope, personality and diversity, a spirit and conscience. That is why we live in our luxurious homes and they are out there in the park, bush or the zoo. Of them all, we are the only ones who process our food before eating, we engage in things like burying the dead, celebrating a birth or marriage. However, many of us humans don't go beyond the material and economic need. Though we all have economic needs, not all of us get to satisfy that need enough. We also, all possess spiritual needs; which is the need to connect to divinity. Until we move to this higher level of being, we are yet to live beyond the animal plane. Living beyond the animal plane requires genuine understanding of who we are, what we are made of, what we are made for and more importantly where we come from. These are the questions of IDENTITY, PURPOSE and ORIGIN which must be understood, answered, embraced, and then lived accordingly. Since to the animal, life is all about living and survival, then what is our own life about, we who ought to live beyond the animal plane. So to begin to answer let us begin with a description of what our life is about.

EVERYTHING EVERYTHING

The Big Picture

Think of it, how would you say the WHOLE PICTURE form a whole? There are numerous human activities, and diverse fields of human engagement, all contributing to the entire human system one way or the other, some were mentioned earlier. There are the teachers to supply knowledge and equip people. The farmer is to provide food for the teachers and students, and the tailor is to make cloths for the cover of every one. The lawyer is needed for justice to be established, the clerics are needed also, and the entertainers are wanted. As much as it is honourable to be the CEO someone has to be the cleaner, the driver, the cook, the chauffeur, or better still the gateman. It's a jigsaw puzzle we are in, and whether we choose to believe either of these two: That there is a pre-written script that we are all playing or That we experience only those we have chosen, and allowed.

Either way the fact remains that there is need for us to be in a role playing a part. While we all don't see it that way, we are all in someway playing a part in life. For some, it is the desire to be rich, and so they do all they do, for others it is to get fame and or power. Whatever our understanding or motive is, one truth is that we are filling a space, and making a contribution of some sort. Filling a space can only be of two kinds; where you ought to be, and or, where you chose to be. Making a contribution can also only be of two kinds; RELEVANCE or NUISANCE. And they are not identified by liquid status. Trust me, all these will not make any sense else we check things from the beginning. I'll use several diagrams to illustrate the whole picture, and then we will move from there.

The Big Picture

So, let's take a look at the big picture, I believe a holistic view of everything would help in understanding were we have come from, where we are and where we are going. It would advance our understanding of living beyond the animal plane, and also the GOAL of everything. How I like to do this is with a diagram I call Time-Line.

This diagram has three stages;

Beginning Redemption or Re-birth, and Restoration or End.

The diagram is of two types and only one thing differentiates both. Also, there are two divisions; Fall and Lifetime. For clarity, let us fix a timeframe to the diagram. Between 'Beginning and Redemption or Re-birth' is the first division (Fall), and that is from the first day of 1B.C. till the first day of 1A.D. since you are reading this book, you and I belong to the second division (Lifetime). The last stage (End or Restoration) varies. To some, it is death, and to some it is the end of the world, however we all won't be here forever. So far, those are the similarities amongst both diagrams. Now, I will explain why they are different.

The Big Picture

I choose not to hide this truth from you; we are created by God (Yahweh), and the story of creation is very accurate. The beginning of the world is the first stage in both diagrams. Shortly after that, sin entered into the world and so the fall began(1). If you take a look at the diagram, you will see that the second division (Lifetime) has a set of goals, which are Reconciliation and Living and Role Playing. The second diagram is without Reconciliation. Here is why; After the fall, there was need to redeem man, hence the coming of Christ(2), and his death for our redemption. So at the second stage (Redemption or Re-Birth)(3), the fall was put to an end. However, only to those who accept the work of Redemption, to them it turns out to become Redemption and a New Birth (Re-Birth). That is why we have two diagrams and in the first diagram, the dotted lines ended at the stage of Re-Birth. To everyone was Redemption made available to, but only those who accepts it gets a Re-Birth. Titus 2:11- For the Grace of the God that bringeth salvation hath appeared unto all men. However, we get saved this Grace that comes to all men through faith (acceptance of grace) Ephesians 2:8. So all through, there are two goals and responsibilities; Living and Role-Playing, only Re-Birth brings Reconciliation to the picture. And it is only Re-Birth the makes the 'End' a Restoration type of end. The required is to move from Redemption to Re-Birth through acceptance of redemption. NOTE: Even in the time space of 'fall', the goals and responsibilities of Living and Role-playing still existed. However, not everyone fulfilled it in total. Never the less, it was present and achievable. My goal in showing you this diagram is so that an understanding of the big picture can be grasped. Having made it known that the first diagram is a better reality to dwell in, I would at this point begin to define those three goals and responsibilities in this diagram called The Goal Matrix.

1 Genesis 3:1-24
2 John 3:16-17- For God so Loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world might be saved through him.

3 John 1:12- But as many as received in him, to them gave he power to become sons of God.

The Big Picture

THREE GOALS AND RESPONSIBILITIES So far in life we have the goal and responsibilities; To Live, For Role-Playing and For Reconciliation. Their relationship is better explained with the table below.

Each goal has needs, and these needs are characterized by three words (Effectiveness, relevance and grace).

GOAL 1
GOAL 1
Naturally we all have the goal to live, and so we have the need for survival, for growth, to thrive, and to be fulfilled.

The Need for Survival

To survive here means being able to meet our basic needs sufficiently (maybe not in excess, but enough for our balance and effectiveness), the basic needs of; Food, Cloth, Shelter Reproduction and Security. In the animal kingdom, this is the sole goal, and that is all they live for. Sad as it may appear; there are
Homo sapiens, who have this goal also as their only one. By that, I have not stated that this goal is

unimportant, what I simply mean is that to have this alone as a goal or singular pursuit, is low level playing, and animalistic; we are more.

The Need for Growth

Another goal that we have and that differentiates us from the animals is the goal for growth, most especially the need for social and spiritual growths. In satisfying our need for growth, we would need to achieve the following;

Physiological growth Emotional growth Psychological growth Intellectual growth Personality development Social growth Spiritual growth.

They combine to form growth in our three basic domains/dimensions; spirit, soul and body. Development in these three dimensions is called wholesome development and it is also an entire one. The person of an individual would get to perform better when he/she is well developed in these areas, at least to a very good extent. One truth however is that, we are here in this imperfect world, and also in this body, where there are several weaknesses, and so we never get to achieve 100% growth in all. Regardless of that, growth is necessary, and our commitment to it is essential.

10

GOAL 1: LIVING
GOAL 1

The Need To Thrive

Here the need is to succeed. To succeed means to achieve optimum performance in our career, finance and in our various roles in life. It means to do well in our roles. Though we define it differently, we all mean to do well. You would do well to observe that because of the need to thrive; many are doing all that they do. This applies to the student furiously seeking admission into the university or pursuing high grades. It applies to the graduates doing everything to get a job or even the employee striving for promotion. We see this need apply also in how companies strive to remain in the market. Even the criminal is up to fulfilling this need. It is a very important need that must be met. However it is not the most important. In my opinion, none of the needs or goals mentioned in this section is more important than the others. What is however true, is that the lack or at most the insufficiency of one could affect an entity (a person, an organization or, a country). For example, when people can barely meet their basic needs, or have lower income than it is normal for effectiveness in their society, what happens is that, other goals and needs might not be pursued. You can only find few persons who haven't secured a stable financial life try to achieve the goal of Role Playing effectively or even try to make a contribution to their society. I have seen this affect how people approach the goal of Reconciliation, I will sight this lesson I learnt from a verse in the bible. It can be found in any of these books Mark 8:36, Matthew 16:26, and Luke 9:25. What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul? This is a profound statement, and wisdom demands that one heed to it. Also there is another reality to this scripture, it is that if a man gains nothing or at most too little than he ought to get out of life, he might also lose his soul. I will explain. When a person is poor, he will tend to lie, and do all things to get out of his discomfort. Such a person will tend to be hateful and jealous of those thriving, such will most likely not enjoy good fellowship and service to God. We have seen the masses or the poor take political bribes, get someone betrayed because of the favour it would fetch. I don't mean this never occurs within the higher class of individuals, but it is not also absent within the lower class of individuals. Because of this need (TO THRIVE), many have become selfish. As much as it is a necessary one, many are overwhelmed by it.

11

GOAL 1: LIVING
GOAL 1
To be fulfilled Here is the need to be pleased with our living.

How well we have been able to survive, grow and thrive will determine the level of fulfilment we enjoy (amongst other factors). It is someone that is well that can treat the sick. As much as fulfilment is gotten from various means by different individuals, those first three needs go a long way in determining our level of fulfilment. When the need for survival, for growth, to thrive, and fulfilment are well achieved by an individual, such life is characterized by the word EFFECTIVENESS.

12

GOAL 2: ROLE PLAYING

GOAL 2
Picture this; A world without computers, airplanes, telephones, mobile phones, the internet, schools, books, biro, cars, cloths, sunglasses, skate boards, brick houses, shoes, television, radio, wrist watches, alarm clock, fan, heater, printing press, microphone, face book, twitter, e-mail, electricity, anti-biotic, vaccines, chlorine, sodium-chloride You can add to the list. How would it be like to not have all these around today? What about a world without Bill Gates and his colleagues, or the Wright Brothers, Nelson Mandela, mother Teresa, Abraham Lincoln, Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King Jr., John Wesley, Winston Churchill, Zukarbarg, Sir Alexander Fleming, Fela Durotoye, Olakunle Sorinyan, Leke Alder, Charles Spurgeon, Alexander Graham Bell Majority have done quit well achieving the goal of living, and they are more in the minority who have moved to this second goal. The goal of role playing has three successive needs, they are; Self Discovery Self Actualization and Contribution. One man can't be every thing, even the ants and other lower animals know that. So they engage in division of labour, there is a role every species plays in the ecosystem. And once there is a defaulting from an entity in the ecosystem, there occurs an automatic imbalance in the entire ecosystem. The same is true with us humans; one man can't be every thing. In the introductory chapters, several human engagements were listed, and it is obvious that no genius can be all that at once and also be available for every man's need. We all have this goal to play a role in the cosmos. Whether you are conscious of it or not, we are all playing a role in life. The thief, the armed robber also, the preacher, the tailor, the gardener, the farmer, the taxi man, the conductor, the comedian, the chef, the lawyer every one is involved some way, you are not left out, and so am I. Whether you are the lawyer, the doctor or the assassin, the secretary loving her job or the waiter cursing her boss form Mondays to Fridays, we all are functioning somewhere. Choice is what we have made, or maybe fate is what we have accepted, either way, we are playing a role. Playing a role can be of two kinds; Nuisance or Relevance. By that indication, I am sure you know to which you belong.

13

GOAL 2: ROLE PLAYING

GOAL 2
Self discovery As much as there is a happy teacher loving his/her job, there are MDs hating Mondays and longing for the next Friday to come. If you ask me why, I will answer simply; SELF DISCOVERY. To thyself be true goes Shakespeare. Abraham Maslow said and I quote; A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What one can be, one must be. I once heard some one said that when you find what you are meant to do, you will suddenly find all the energy to commit to it.

SO, FIND YOU!

Self Actualization

We are a box of many; we can do and be a lot. If a man must be at peace with himself, he must SELF DISCOVER, and then BECOME what HE CAN BE and is meant to become. Hence SELF ACTUALIZATION is achieved. Simple! Contribution

It is someone that is well that can treat the sick, how can a salt savour a meal, when it has lost its savour, or how can a light illuminate a place when it is hidden under a bushel! The world is in need, and there are numerous life engagements and spaces to fill. But how would the entire jigsaw puzzle be complete when there are millions that are yet to SELF DISCOVER or even SELF ACTUALIZE. Fela Durotoye said and I quote; Find YOUR SPACE, Fill YOUR SPACE, and RUN YOUR RACE When an individual, has successfully achieved the three needs of the role-playing goal, such life becomes characterized with the word RELEVANCE.

14

GOAL 3: RECONCILIATION
GOAL 3
This is where it all comes together, the goal that tops all other goals. In this goal does others find meaning, permit me to call it the TOP GOAL. Not that it is the most important, but that it is the goal that gives a grand scale meaning to others. Understanding of it, breeds meaning to how other goals are approached and defined, as well as their corresponding needs. All over the world, man has been in search of a God it is obvious in his devotion to the various religions of the world. Not until recently, the spiritual part of man has not been so much accepted as much as it is now. The truth is that, man is a spirit who has a soul (containing mind, emotion and will), and exists in this body. After having it all, records proves that the soul of man gets tired and sees how vain everything could be. Check death bed stories, no one ever wished to get more material things. It is always about a desire for better things of relationship, contribution, and fellowship with friends, relative, humans, and a devotion to God. Check out the three goals; Living, Role Playing and Reconciliation. Observe their characteristics, it moves from being personal, physical, time bound and decay prone to being selfless, intangible but substantial, long lasting, transforming, universal and eternal. The more we move up the goal ladder, the more we enjoy our existence and derive fulfilment. MAJORITY stops at living, and even at that they don't even achieve it in fuller measure. Hence the reason for the nature of death bed stories. This is the reason; Man is not like the animals, we have more complexities to our nature and so we naturally yearn to achieve more than living. We DON'T get peace, tranquillity and an entire fulfilment until we achieve more than living. We are wired to be of use to one another- Role Playing We are spirits in a physical body, hence the thirst for the extraterrestrial- Reconciliation

Both are obvious in how people give up their widow's mite for a course, a need, or even in how people engage in charity and philanthropic activities. It is also obvious in the various religious devotions of man. Whether it is occultism, Satanism, Buddhism, Hinduism, existentialism, or whichever, we all acknowledge the extraterrestrial. At this point the question that we are left with is that what is the right way? There are no grey areas in life. It is either good or bad, black or white, right or wrong, antonyms or synonyms. Among many ways, there has to be THE WAY.

15

GOAL 3: RECONCILIATION
GOAL 3

Briefly, I want you to carry out an exercise and ensure that you do this before you read further. Get two or more people to do this with you, you will have to promise each other to be sincere with this exercise. Then instruct yourselves to close your eyes, having done that with sincerity, tell every one to point to the north (with your eyes still closed). Then you can open your eyes having done that. Ensure that you are still pointing as you open your eyes. You would notice that everyone pointed in different directions. Two things are true; You were all right You all had different right views One thing is sure; At best, maybe only a few of you would be right by chance. The true north can only be detected by a compass. This is the relevance of the exercise, as much as we all have our views about the north (the way), there can only be one and veritable true north (THE WAY). The true north gives meaning and direction to other locations. So, just as there is a true north, there is THE WAY. The extraterrestrial is real; there is a realm of existence called the spiritual. We must understand that we are not just this body, we are spirits. On accepting that, the question to ask is whether we are in line with the right side (true north), or not. This goal (Reconciliation) stands on the following pillars; That there is a God (Yahweh) That the world we know of today starts from Creation (Genesis 1:1) and, That salvation of men comes through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection The acceptance of this would arise if you can try to question life after death. After one has LIVED well and has also ROLE-PLAYED well, and has achieved an effective and relevant life; when we die what will happen? One thing for sure is that many accolades would have been acquired; the history books would forever sing ones praise, and the entire world would take long to recover from your departure. These are awesome achievements and it is a goal that I think we should all have at heart. However, the question of what happens at the other side of the divide is yet to be answered.

16

GOAL 3: RECONCILIATION
GOAL 3

HONESTLY, I don't want to go into lengthy explanations and debate about this, but the truth is that, the God we seek and yearn for or the extraterrestrial we long to understand, or whatever word we choose to describe our need for the spiritual. The answer is found in Christ (the true north). I said earlier that this goal stands on three pillars; That there is a God (Yahweh) That the world we know of today starts from Creation (Genesis 1:1) and That salvation of men comes through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection

IN THE BEGINNING
God (Yahweh) has this basic intent over time; to fill everywhere and all things with himself. He is into big time franchise and brand extension. He therefore decided to create himself in other forms multiplied. We are created in his image (Genesis 1:26). He created gods- spirits like him but this time in a flesh and in time space (Psalm 82:6). His instruction to his brand extensions was to DOMINATE more territories and extend his brand identity (Genesis 1:28). Because together we are meant to carry out the overall mission of the ZOE brand extension, we are therefore needed to have continuous, fellowship, communion, worship, and all the words that could also mean regular board room meeting and feedback reports. But that can only be possible by a relationship, means of contact and communication. The fall of man brought about disconnection, hence man could not worship in truth and in spirit (Gospel of John 4:2324). Man was still the spiritual being he was, but not at the magnitude with which he started. So in him remained the thirst for RESTORATION (John 4:14). Since the thirst we express is to get back to our full state in the franchise project, what we needed was an attestation from the head. In search of this, man came up with the different religious sects of the times. This became glaring and so the Head decided to send a help for the restoration that we all seek and need.

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God hath not sent his son into the world to condemn the word; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because has not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.

The major aim of GOAL 3 is that God has a goal in which man is a big part of; hence we are created and called. Our work is to also get other men to be aware of this God's intent and then get them to re-align themselves with the franchise chain. So Jesus Christ is THE WAY! John 14:6 - I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the father, but by me.

GOAL 3: RECONCILIATION
GOAL 3

As man accepts GAOL 3, the following needs have to be met; Transformation Service Reconciliation

Transformation is like the re-orientation programme for restored franchise managers, so that they can learn the organisational culture, values, mission, and general practices. Hence to think believe and act as the gods they are (Psalm 82:6) Romans 12:2 And be ye not conformed to this world but be transformed in your mind by the renewing of your mind, that ye ma prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Service is needed, as much as there is need for brand extension to new territories and individuals, there is need for the members of the organization to work together for the growth of each other, the organization. Hence is the various roles of individuals defined as each is LED. Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave to some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come to the unity of faith, and the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Reconciliation is also needed; the brand has to be extended. God's intent involves man, and so those who are already a part of it should help recruit more franchise managers. And then take them through the process of transformation, service and then reconciliation has they have also gone through. 2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespass unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

GOAL 3: RECONCILIATION
GOAL 3
And that is it; Goal 3 defined and laid out in its simplest form. From here we will move to the last section of this e-book, where the balance to all these goals and every thing would be addressed. And also, the question of purpose and our roles in this life would be answered. However I have promised not to dictate to you a formula, what I have done so far was to give you an understanding of the whole picture. The same will I do in this concluding section.

WHAT MATTERS MOST

In summary, goals 1, 2, and 3 are our responsibilities as humans, and so what matters most is that we all should ensure that we are functioning in them. Let us ensure we don't end up at goal 1, or at gaol 2 alone. How we do that, is left to us individually. That is why the SKILL to be able to DISCERN our own unique way of expressing these goals is very important. So we have to live well, play our role well, and join in reconciliation. This should be the backdrop of all our endeavours in life. The different ACTIVITIES with which we express them may vary, but the goal is the same. Observe the trends; you will discover how majority of human's endeavours are majorly under the first goal. This includes organisations their mission statements, seminars and their topic of discuss, books and their content, projects and their objectives, and so on. While they play a role in some way, you could see that the intent behind their set up is more about achieving goal 1. I had to point at that so that we could see how easy it is to get carried away and then loose the balance. Let us therefore re-address our intents and ensure it is more on finding balance in the achievement of these three goals. What matters most is not Goal 1, Goal 2 or 3!

What matters most is a balance in achieving these goals and not to be overtly tilted to one side.

21

DEFINING YOUR PURPOSE

We have been able to identify the three umbrella goals and responsibilities of man. The good question should be how we can achieve them; in order words what can we do to go about them, impliedly what ACTIVITIES would accomplish them. The three goals are our mission. And purpose, calling, destiny and any related words you can choose to describe one's life engagement is just a set of activities done at different times to achieve the end goal. PURPOSE is a journey, today you are at this spot, the next you are at another. Hence, it is your functioning per time; purpose is not a destination, it is the actualization of a journey; the journey that would end at a destination someday. The yard stick for that destination is a balance in the achievement of the three goals. To every man is given a conscience, and so by it we are able to individually DISCERN what to do per time and also by it we are able to DISCERN how far we have gone in relation to our personal/individual journey. So it is never a competition, though we are in a race to get there, it is an individual race. Your Top is not my Top. The simple answer is this; 1. Keep in mind the three goals, responsibilities, or mission 2. Follow your heart beat and engage in activities that naturally flows with you per time 3. Only ensure that these goals are achieved in the activities engaged in 4. Seek and work to live well 5. Become useful,; love your neighbour as your self 6. Be spiritually alive and functioning 7. Engage in activities, roles, works responsibilities, that flows from your heart naturally, and in doing so, ensure that 4, 5, and 6 are achieved in them.

However, Discernment will not be accurate if something is not gotten right. It is like trying to read from a metre which has its pointer away from the zero mark, for such, accuracy will be distorted. That is why the topic of discuss in the next chapter is of importance.

SUSTENANCE
We have outlined the three goals of human beings. In the first two chapters, we saw the example of several achievers, the gang lord was inclusive, and it was cited that he made decisions based on some guiding protocols, in fact the exact words used there was that they are being guided by some inner compass. At the core of every man are these three; Spiritual Stance Paradigm Values

These three determine how you approach life and its various spheres. They affect how you treat yourself and many of your engagements in life. They affect your discernment as was mentioned in the previous chapter. Spiritual stance, Paradigm, and values; they count. They would determine how you would embrace a lot of things. In my opinion, I think the only difference between Hitler and Moses in the Bible is their core. My admonition; Get your spiritual stance right Align your paradigm with credible and time tested principles, stick to what is value based, relevant, original in content, eternal in value, and good for the common good Readdress what your values are. Take up virtues that replace the faulty one we were brought up with. Your God given conscience is aware of this, obey it.

For every view there is a TRUE NORTH. Therefore, for a credible balance, let us audit our core, and then edit and re-align it to the true north. NO ONE WAS BORN PERFECT, BUT WE CAN ALL GROW INTO PERFECTION. This world we live in is a world of standards, yard sticks and templates. In one region, it is okay to define marriage as the agreement between two people to live together as husband and wife. In another region, marriage is preferably defined as the agreement between a man and a woman to live together as husband and wife, and many other preferences as such. Check out when people give advice, they do that based on their preferences, and not really what may be right. When even we try to define what is right, we judge based on a more widely accepted standard. A child brought up in a home where alcohol is taken would not have much issue against taking one, at best; he or she would only say it is right not to take much to avoid getting drunk. But the child of the opposite side would say never taste it if it is above 0% volume. Where I come from, it is commonly said that one man's food is another man's poison. And that is one of the reasons that I wrote this book; to help us see the importance of doing away with all these varying views that do not align with the TRUE NORTH.

23

SUSTENANCE

There is a universally and eternally accepted way. Preferences and prejudices don't apply here, and that is why if your core is well audited all preferences would not exit. I mean, God created the world, but we created the system, hence we have brought about everything that exists due to every individual entity's preferences. I accept diversity, uniqueness and originality, but not to the extent that we now include our weaknesses and paint it as being one's self. My admonition; Let us get it straight.

I would like to stop here; we'll meet again in the third edition of the e-book series. But before then, let me share with you MY GOAL!

24

MY GOAL
My Mission Statement My goal is to help as many as I can to change the way they think, act, and behave to the way God would like them to. This is how I would UNIQUELY contribute to the three goals and the various roles I play in life are towards achieving bits of the entire goal. My Roles Permit me to say that I am multi talented; I write, I speak, I design, I am a serial entrepreneur, I am a Talent manager, a Psychologist (without a degree), a Philosopher, a poet, a brother, a son, a colleague, a neighbour, a mentor, a protge and a steward in the body of Christ amongst many other roles.

Mini-Goals These roles affect the mini-goals I set for my life, from book writing, engaging in a training, church attendance, exercises, diets, release of a new product into the market, taking up anew course of study, taking a trip, get into/out of a relationships, meeting someone, joining an organization, making some donations, and many others. Time-Use It is with the understanding of every thing that I both intuitively and logically deploy my time use. So my intent every time is to do away with it if it is not needed. Though I get distracted at times, this mind set helps me to get back on track.
