Thursday 7 May 2009 will forever be remembered as the blackest

day in the history of Perak since independence.

The attempt by the BN to seize control of the Perak Legislative

Assembly is nothing but a complete sham and a total insult to
Malaysian democracy. Why not just do away with all elections in
the future and allow the BN to rule forever. This way, we need
not have to put up with the useless sham as is being seen now.
'Democracy' has always been a sham here.

What happened on 7 May was totally in opposition to the wishes

of the PM who had recently stated that politicians should be
honest and sincere towards the people.

The BN and the Pakatan both have 28 seats with the other seats
belonging to the so-called '3 independents'. But two of them,
however, are facing charges of corruption. Among the multiple
charges they are now facing are some related to receiving and
accepting sexual gratification which surely would stink all the
way to such places like Putrajaya, the royal palaces, the many
city coffeeshops, the village warongs and all the local and
foreign presses.

The BN top leadership has said that unnecessary by-elections are

a waste of time and money. What about state reps who are facing
corruption and criminal charges ? Is the BN planning to persuade
the DPP to drop the charges just because it might be seen as a
waste of time and money ? Is pursuing justice seen as an act that
wastes time and money ?

The Perak BN must not forget that the seats are very likely to
return to Pakatan should the two assemblymen vacate their seats
in the event they both got convicted of their charges.

Perhaps there's a possibility that the saying 'corruption begets

more corruption' might come true in this particular case. The
Perak BN might maneuver to get the two men free and thereby enable
them to hold onto their seats in the Perak Legislative Assembly.

But should that fail, the state would have to hold by-elections
for the seats and then the Pakatan would surely be able to win
back their majority in the Assembly. This would lead to another
round of musical chairs which would certainly not reflect the
wishes of the PM who wants the nation's politicians to stop
fooling around while he is in charge.

The Perak BN's recent seizure of power was orchestrated by A.Zahid

and it was nothing less than an act of daylight robbery. Some of
the Pakatan reps had been offered huge sums of money to switch
sides, while others were threatened with physical harm if they
refused. In the end the people of Perak were robbed of their
March 2008 victory.

The Perak BN, however only managed to get their hands on rotten
apples which would not last very long. The people of Perak are
bound to get back what they had temporarily lost to thieves and
robbers. We must not lose hope. We will yet win the last battle.
In the end, we all would be able to learn a very good lesson:
Honesty is the best policy. Robbing the innocent is always not
beneficial to anyone including the BN. The politicians in the
Perak BN should now 'bertaubat' to the people and the PM of
Malaysia. Thursday 7 May 2009 was indeed a black day for all
of us. Call off all sittings until the 2 reps who are facing
criminal charges have been completely dealt with. We need
honest and clean politicians. Today. Starting now !
