GROUP DISCUSSION: Topic of the GD : Anytime anywhere access is everytime everywhere intrusion into privacy. No. of participants in the GD : 10 Time Limit and any other instructions : 12 minutes. Whether asked to summarize the GD : Yes (Everyone was asked to summarize) Whether a written summary of the GD was asked : No THE GD EXPERIENCE: (please provide at least 5 lines of description) I spoke about how there are advantages as well as disadvantages of anytime access. Technologies like ATMs, Internet Banking are examples of how useful they are in our lives. At the same time though mobile phones and webcams are so useful, they can be misused as well. Points like unsolicited telephone calls, defense secrets, and medical transcripts were raised. At the end of about 12min, the panel randomly asked every one of us to summarize for a minute. I could not end my summary which I felt was otherwise a negative point in my GD performance. How would you rate the Chaos level in the GD (on a scale of 1-10, 1 being most peaceful 10 being most chaotic)? 3/10 Any observations on mistakes you committed in the GD: Try to summarize within the allotted time.

Any observations of what you could have done better in the GD: Any tips for GD preparation: It always helps if you have done general reading on topics as abstract as possible. Read newspapers to form opinions and ideas. Dont read them from the GD point of view but from the point of view of getting to know things and being aware of them. PERSONAL INTERVIEW: No of interviewers in the Panel: 2 List of the questions asked and your responses: (Intro questions/acad based questions/work experience based/general awareness/personal questions) Please check the following link for a detailed experience. http://rajeshkuc.blogspot.com/2005/03/iimc-interview-experience.html Any observations on mistakes you committed in the PI: None Any observations of what you could have done better in the PI: None as such Any tips for Personal Interview preparation: Be well prepared with your academic stuff atleast the basics. For people with work experience, there is a tendency to forgo their academic basics but this might be a pitfall. It helps to be aware of the fundaes. Be ready to answer questions on your hobby. If you dont have one, you might be honest saying that as such you dont have one. This might or might not create a bad impression depending on the interviewer and your luck. There is also no problem in making up a hobby but then be prepared to answer a few questions on it. If its not your day, then the interviewer might probe into your hobby and then you are done. Take the gamble if you are risk-loving!!
