Energy Power Supply System Solar Power System Applicable Condition

Application Scenarios

The Power2000 uses the Solar Power System to supply power.

The Solar Power System converts the power from PV modules into 48 V DC power by using a solar controller and storage batteries to supply power for base stations and other 48V DC equipment. It cannot be connected to the power grid.
Table 2-1 Features and applicable conditions of the Solar Power System

Feature

Solar energy

Average amount of daily sunshine in a year is longer than 3 hours. The load power is medium or small and no mains is provided. The site is unattended. The solar power cabinet is installed outdoors. The recommended direct current (DC) load power is 1000 W or lower.

The system uses solar energy to power loads, solving the problem when no mains is supplied and diesel generator (D.G.) maintenance costs are high. In addition, it facilitates energy saving and emission reduction. Carrier-class reliability, mature technologies, and hardened components ensure low maintenance rate. Maintenance-free PV modules bring low operating expense (OPEX). Voltages and alarms are reported over dry contacts or serial ports, reducing the times of preventive maintenance inspection (PMI). Components can be flexibly configured or increased based on load power.

In in-band mode, alarms are transmitted to an element management system (EMS) over RS485 ports if the protocol supported by the solar controller is in compliance. Certain alarms can also be transmitted over dry contacts. In out-of-band mode, alarms are transmitted to an EMS over a box type operation manage unit (OMU-B).

3.5 PV Module Support

Introduction
PV module supports are classified into standard supports, scalable low supports, and scalable high supports. Electricity generation can be maximized by adjusting the angle, direction, and height of PV module supports.

Features
PV module supports have the following features:

Support HUAWEI PV modules. Can be combined flexibly to reduce construction cost. Can be adjusted to 15 degrees, 25 degrees, 35 degrees, or 45 degrees.

Scalable high supports help to save site space and prevent theft.

3.6 Remote Element Management

Introduction
The Power2000 can communicate with HUAWEI Network Ecosystem (NetEco) in in-band (over Huawei base stations) or out-of-band (by IP, GPRS, or SMS) mode for data transmission and remote monitoring.
NOTE

GPRS stands for general packet radio service and SMS stands for short message service.

Features

In out-of-band mode, the Power2000 communicates with an EMS over an OMU-B by GPRS or IP. In in-band mode, the Power2000 communicates with an EMS over Huawei base stations and RS485 ports on the solar controller. HUAWEI NetEco is supported.

3 Power2000 Functions

Remote monitoring is supported. Remote management of power supply reduces local maintenance and PMI, which decreases maintenance costs. Real-time information uploading and alarm reporting help customers to understand the site status and potential risks, which improves power supply reliability. Management and statistics collection help customers to analyze power supply problems, which facilitates network optimization and improves competitiveness.

3.7 PV Module Theft Detection

Introduction
PV module theft can be detected in real time and reported to the monitoring center over an EMS.

Features

PV modules are costly and often stolen. Not only does theft bring financial loss, it can also cause load disconnection because of insufficient power. PV module theft detection, in addition to other antitheft measures, prevents PV modules from being stolen and protects customer investment. An alarm is generated when a PV module is stolen.

5 Component Description

Appearance
Figure 5-5 shows an 800 Ah SCB. Figure 5-5 800 Ah SCB

Functions
SCBs store energy and supply power when the main power source fails.

Features
SCBs are developed by Huawei and has the following features:

The service life of an SCB is longer than 20 years in floating charge mode. One SCB can be charged and discharged 1500 times when the DOD is 30% and the temperature is 35C (95F). By adopting the thick plate, Huawei-patent anticorrosive alloy, and 4BS diachylum technology, the SCB has the oxygen complex reaction efficiency record of more than 99%. This improves the service life of SCBs.

The SCB is sealed reliably to be free of acid leakage. Securely sealed terminals and valves and highly precise heat-seal acrylonitrile butadiene styrene resin (ABS) shell ensure no electrolyte leakage.

The factory capacity is more than 100% of the nominal capacity. The self discharge ratio within 30 days at 25C (77F) is less than 3%. Electric charge is released within a long period of time, which makes SCBs applicable to the scenario with solar energy. The excellent shallow discharge performance allows for extra long cycle life with low electric charge.

Battery cables are insulated well and are of high quality. Battery terminals are properly connected to the connection bar and the connection resistance is very low. The connection bar is covered by rubber, which improves security.

The SCB is aesthetically designed and easy to install. The SCB uses the streamline design with matte color in appearance and modular design in structure.
