The 2013 Jessops EADT Ballingdon Mill Prize Aeronautics in East Anglia Photography Competition In January 2013 Ballingdon

Mill, an artists retreat in Sudbury, Suffolk, launched its first major residency project with artist Andrew Cross who is producing an artwork on the subject of aeronautics in the Suffolk landscape. In parallel with Andrews commission Ballingdon Mill in association with Jessops and The East Anglian Daily Times have launched an open photography competition with a similar theme called Aeronautics in East Anglia.

The Prize The 2013 Jessops EADT Ballingdon Mill Prize is a Canon EOS60D 18-135mm worth 799. No matter what subject, the EOS 60D delivers great results. With an 18 megapixel resolution, it offers large files that are rich in detail and natural colour. And with a max ISO 6400 sensitivity and 5.3fps continuous shooting the EOS 60D also offers a 3-inch vari-angle LCD screen allowing shooting of still photos and Full HD movies from unusual viewpoints. The brief and submission Photographs must be must be at least 300dpi but no bigger than 10Mb Email your photo to ballingdonmill@gmail.com Please include Aeronautics in East Anglia in the subject line of the email with a short caption in the message body stating: o o o o The date and location of the photograph. A short description to explain the photos aeronautic connection. Make and model of camera used (if scan of print please state also). Your name, age, email address, postal address and telephone number.

Judging Judging will take place at the Wattisham Station Heritage Museum. The panel will be chaired by photographer Eamonn McCabe and will include: Ann Dumas, Curator, The Royal Academy Bill Batten, Photographer Emma Hardy, Photographer Andrew Cross, Artist in Residence, Ballingdon Mill Alan Swerdlow MBE, Deputy Chairman, Gainsborough's House

Terms & Conditions 1. Entries may be the product of an individual or a team. 2. Entrants may submit up to two photographs (in the event more than two are submitted, the last two submitted will be counted as entries). 3. All entries must be submitted electronically to ballingdonmill@gmail.com. 4. Additional material such as CVs and portfolios will be discarded. 5. Successful entrants will be notified by email. Unsuccessful entrants will also be notified by email though unfortunately we will not be able to offer feedback. 6. This competition cannot receive entries marked confidential and entrants are responsible for the intellectual property rights associated with their entry. 7. By submitting an entry to the competition the entrant grants a royalty free license to the organizers to use or reproduce entries for publicity and/or exhibition purposes in connection with the competition (this includes the production of a postcard). The organizers are: Ballingdon Mill (& its affiliates), Jessops (& its affiliates), The East Anglian Daily Times (& its affiliates). 8. Publication of entries is at the discretion of the competition organizers. 9. The competition organizers reserve the right to alter the terms and conditions at any time.
