Introduction

Computational fluid dynamics, usually abbreviated as CFD, is a branch of fluid mechanics that uses numerical methods and algorithms to solve and analyze problems that involve fluid flows. Computers are used to perform the calculations required to simulate the interaction of liquids and gases with surfaces defined by boundary conditions. With high-speed supercomputers, better solutions can be achieved. Ongoing research yields software that improves the accuracy and speed of complex simulation scenarios such as transonic or turbulent flows. Initial experimental validation of such software is performed using a wind tunnel with the final validation coming in full-scale testing, e.g. flight tests.

Some examples are:1. aerodynamics of aircraft and vehicles: lift and drag

numerical simulation of an aircraft in German aerospace center(DLR).

2. Hydrodynamics of ships.

Cfd model of ship.

3. power plant
A CFD model simulating the flow and pressure in a reactor coolant pump at the Loviisa nuclear power plant. The effect of modifications was simulated using the model prior to actual work being carried out.

4. Biomedical engineering
More recently, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has emerged as a promising tool, which, alongside experimentation, can yield insights of unprecedented detail into the hemodynamics of prosthetic heart valves

Model
Here we are importing geometry from CAD

15

Enclosure
Here we are taking 400mm enclosure uniformly surrounding the model.

16

Meshing
In this component we are doing mesh of the model in 100 relevance.

Set up
Doman(fluid, solid)boundary condition in fluid Doman(inlet, outlet, walls)we are testing wing in subsonic wind tunnel, so we are putting air speed in inlet is equal to 0.75 Mach and static pressure in outlet is equal to zero.

Conclusion.
Here we are getting very high pressure in engine nacelle and front edges of the wing and it can affect wing structure and wing skin also.so we need here batter design salutation who will support wing shape aerodynamically.
