MPM4700 Intelligent Level Transmitter

1 Brief Introduction
MPM4700 transmitter is full-sealed submersible intelligent level instrument. It is made up by building-in OEM pressure sensor with good stability & reliability and high accuracy intelligent circuit board into the stainless steel housing. The transmitter parameters could be adjusted and calibrated through RS485 interface and software. The integrated construction and standard output signal provide convenience for worksite operation and automatically controlling.

The product is manufactured in conformity to License for Manufacturing Measurement Instrument Shaanzhi No. 03000112 of P. R. China.

5.1 Checking before Installation

MPM4700 Intelligent Level Transmitter Attention before installation 1 Please be sure the liquid static pressure brought at the operation place will not exceed the transmitter measurement range 2 Please be sure the measuring liquid is compatible with the construction material 3 Please be sure the liquid will not jam the liquid leading hole 5.2 Installation Method The transmitter should be mounted vertical down. In the flowing water, please be sure the sensing face is parallel with the water flowing direction. 5.2.1 Installation in Static Water The installation method in the pool to see chart 2: Connection Box

To protect the transmitter, it should be mounted far away from the pumping in/out source to prevent the pumping impact; the transmitter also could be mounted as Chart 3, protected by steel pipe. The installation method in the deep well to see chart 3: Steel pipe inserting method could be used. The steel pipe could not be bent, the internal diameter 30mm. Several little holes could be made at different heights of the pipe for lifting up and down conveniently and making the water going through unobstructed. If necessary, the transmitter could be wrapped by steel wire. Lift up and down with the steel wire to protect the cable. Connection Box

The steel pipe should be thicker, and several little holes should be made at different heights of the pipe to damp wave and reduce water moving effect. Chart 8 Note: when 420mADC output and RS485 are used at the same time, signal 485 may interfere 4 20mADC output signal. The influence is related to communication speed and frequency. Chart 9 There is a plastic tube inside the cable, it is used to connect gauge sensor with the atmosphere. In the installation and operation, please be sure the vented tube connected with the atmosphere unobstructed. Please do not jam the vented tube with mud or sand, especially do not make water or other liquid going through the vented tube.

Users can buy a safe barrier by yourself, only need to take care its specs are as above-mentioned requirements and have an explosion-proof certificate. The installation of safe barrier is in accordance with its operating instructions. Note Uithe highest input voltage, the highest voltage which could work on transmitter input terminals. Uo the highest output voltage, the highest voltage on intrinsically safe circuit when safe barrier s output side is open. Iithe max. input current, the max. current which could work on transmitter input terminals. Io the max. output current, the max. current on intrinsically safe circuit which could be got from safe barrier output terminals. Cithe max. internal capacitance, the internal equal total capacitance which could exist on transmitter input terminals. Cothe max. external capacitance, the max. intrinsically safe capacitance which could be connected with safe barrier output terminals. Lithe max. internal inductance, the internal equal total inductance which could exist on transmitter input terminals. Lothe max. external inductance, the biggest inductance which could be connected with safe barrier s terminals.

6 Operation, Maintenance and Failure Identification

6.1 Operation The user could operate the transmitter without any adjustment. Please check the installation and make sure the correct electric connection before operation. Then connect the power and operate. 6.2 Maintenance MPM4700 intelligent level transmitter does not need regular maintenance. However, please pay attention to the following items for better operation. (1) Please check the cable connection often and make sure the cable connection reliably and no aging. (2) Please clean the steel cap and diaphragm cavity according to the measuring media. (take care!) (3) Please do not pull the cable violently or press the diaphragm with sharp or hard metal, etc. (4) Please be sure the vented tube connected with the atmosphere unobstructed. Please do not jam the vented tube to prevent make additional error. 6.3 Failure Identification If the transmitter is failure, such as no output or output unstable, ect. Please shut the power first, then check if the installation and cable connection conform to manual, power voltage is correct or not, vented tube is unobstructed or not and the system works well or not. If something is abnormal, please try to get rid of the failure. If the failure can not be dealt with, please contact with our company promptly.
