cut out tea and coffee and no home internet connection
Kwiry – sms reminder service in 207 closing down
Cliffs Natural Resources – mining coal layoff 355 at mines
Pilgrims Pride – TX chicken Chapter XI close plant in GA and out280 people. Bought plant from
Con Agra in 03 – 47000 total and 35 chicken processing plants and 11 prepared food facilities in
14 states and Puerto Rico and Mx.

BF Goodrich – closes ALA plant and 1000 out
Qantas Air – 1750 out – 500 managers AU
Hallmark – 550-750 out MO total of 9200
Deere – 200 out in agricultural equipment and commercial and consumer equipment to combine
divisions
GSI commerce – call center closes
Filene Basement – discount retail sold to liquidation and turnaround specialist – has 25 stores.
Walmart CN – 10000 out. In CN since 1995 with 227 stores and 70000 people. Protests
Philip Morris – close Concord plant with 1100 people

needs huge volume – strategy began in 2007. Strength is multimedia, music, pictures.
Block Cor – holding company for apparel filed Chapter VII and corporate liquidation. Licenses
for known brands.
Toshiba – 3900 out
ABX Air – 500 people out
Ormet – 1000 jobs and change retiree benefits Mike Tanchuk due to Glencore backing out of
contract to buy materials at set price and not supplying materials promised to Ormet. Legal
action.
Nokia Oyj – mobile phone – 1000 resign for severance.
Harley Davidson – 400 jobs production
Best Buy – store managers and senior sales to work with shoppers job cuts and lower pay. Reorg
with 1000 assistant managers out and 8000 senior associates with pay cuts and demoted to sales
associate
Twinsburg Chrysler – UAW local 122 400-500 people out including assembly plant, maintenance
and skilled trades.
NXP – 622 jobs out and plant closing microchip maker in NY
Teradyne – 350 jobs out and reduce exec salaries – chip maker manufacturer Mass total of 3800
global Michael Bradley test equipment in production of electronic chips and other componsents

Dartmouth – 3 laid off from admissions and financial aid.
US Steel – 40 workers laid off
