I would like to start my speech with saying, thank you.

Thank you for choosing me to be your guest speaker among the best other that you can invite. I am very honoured for being with you during this very special gathering as your guest speaker. I even asked myself, who am i? do i deserve to be your guest speaker? I am afraid after my speech, you would regret having me here. I am afraid I may sound non sense to you. I was once a young girl like you who came to marawi city national high school as a fourth year transferee student from a school in lanao del norte. It was june 15, 2000 when i first came in to my class section tiger under the advisory of dr. Sittie mae pamanay. I was surprised when i saw that all of my classmates are maranao and it made me feel awkward because since elementary until third year high school, i used to have only one maranao as my classmate my first cousin. My seat was next to the door because we are 72 in the class and theres no space for me to occupy other than the space next to the door. And I could never forget the reaction of my classmates when i came in and seated. The boys yelled, soronga nyo aki! I trembled and pretend not to be affected. I never thought that being in national would bring lots of changes in my life. I learned to wear kumbong, i learned to speak maranao all day, i gained lots of maranao friends, i learned to climb up on the roof top of sir casims office building, i learned how to mingle with lebog classmates, and non the least i had my first maranao crush. All of my memories in marawi city national high school were first time and so it was all memorable to me. We cant deny the fact that when other people heard of the word marawi city national high school, their impression is always associated with the term, riot. People have impression that when you are from marawi city national high school, parariot ka kon or lebog. Being once a student in national, i would rather put it this way, a student from national have a strong sense of camaraderie or pakikisama. The friendship is strong among the students that, isa lang ang maapi, parang lahat naapi na kaya nagiging massive ang tension between the two main parties involve in the conflict. People should also consider the fact that marawi city national high school does not only produce brave students but also SUCCESSFUL INDIVIDUALS! One best example of this is our batch! Batch 2001! In our batch, we have SASE passers, DOST scholarship passer, CBP Scholars, deans listers during college, and even head of academic organizations in MSU Marawi and other schools. I am proud that many from my batch are successful in their own fields of specializations civil engineers, law students, nurses, teachers, computer experts, businessmen, politicians, and many other fields. Each of them excels in their own fields. How about you dear senior students do you want to be successful? Then Ill give you some tips on how to become successful. Just remember the letters MCNHS. Those letters stand for a word that makes a complete set of keys to success! M for maturity! You are matured when you know how to identify what is good and what is bad; when you know how to discipline yourself; when you know how to prioritize things; when you know that in making decisions, you always have to think twice before you decide; and when you know how to be responsible for the consequences of your actions.

C is for competence! In the race of life, winners are those who got the courage to take risks in facing the challenges of life. Be confident and just give your best in all that you do. Keep in mind that if others can do it, then you can do it too. You can never have something that you want if you dont work for it. Take note, wala ng libre ngayon kaya kung gusto mo magkaron ng isang bagay, you have to earn money so you can buy for one. You can never be the president of the Philippines if you dont file for candidacy and campaign hard. You can never be a champion in a singing contest if dont join in the contest. Meaning, if you have a dream, them pursue it! Strive for it. Sabi nga nila, NO GUTS NO GLORY. N for nourished body! In chasing for success, sometimes people neglect to take care of their health. Skipping breakfast, not eating on time. Sometimes even overnight in internet cafes just to play dota and other online games. People sometimes forget that health is wealth. You may become successful by achieving all your dreams like having a mansion, hacienda, having a mall, an airplane or any other material things, but once your body is ill all of those things become immaterial to you. All of those things become useless to you. How much more when you are severely ill like you had a cancer which is incurable. You cant bring your material wealth to your grave. So, being healthy is really important in being successful. Being healthy is not just by way of eating nutritious foods, but also being physically fit. Do exercises. Engage in sports. For men, you can do basket ball, for girls, you can do badminton, or jogging. It will not only make you physically fit but will also help you release your stress. Dont you know that some diseases are triggered by stress? So, be fit, and try to manage your stress. Smiling is one way of releasing stress. A person who always smile dont get old early and a person who always frown, gets wrinkles at an early age. H for humbleness! We are fun of using the term mala i ulo! Sometimes people who are successful think than they are the best among all others. Success sometimes bring over confidence to a person which is so annoying in our part. Diba pag mahangin ang kausap mo, kahit isa na syang tinitingalang tao sa lipunan, we cant avoid bat awn badn kagwad. So, students anuman maabot nyo in life, always step your feet on the ground. Let other people appreciate you, dont appreciate yourself too much. Accept the fact that no one is perfect so, be open to the idea that you may have some traits that are still needed to be improved though you are 100% convinced that you are the best! And S for spirituality! Faith always gives us guidance and right direction in life. It gives us sense of peace, contentment, and respect for humanity. It keeps us away from evil things and making bad decisions. It gives us sense of equality. When you are troubled and so confused of what to do, meditate. Pagapas ka ko Allah. Think of the purpose why you are here in this world. Think of death. And then you will be relieved and will be revitalized. The reality is we dont really get everything that we want. But always remember that in every failure and success that happens in our life, Allah has a purpose for that. So tigiran ah, so tigka a ayarka mapia na ayarka bs pakabinasa na so tigka a ba ayarka pakabinasa rka na minsan na ayarka bs mapia. So, again, dear students, keep in mind MCNHS for maturity, competence, nourished body, humbleness, and spirituality as the keys to success! Thank you!
