Installing the Kaye Validator Version 3.50 Test Setup Files

The Kaye Validator Version 3.50 Operational Qualification Protocol references 4 specific setups created for the operational qualification of the Kaye Validator. These 4 setup files are included in the accompanying CD as Read-only files, and have a ".CFG" file extension. Before the test setup files can be read into the Kaye Validator software: Prepare the setup files for use by the Kaye Validator by copying the test setup files from the CD to floppy disk, and then clearing the Read-only attribute of each file. Copy the setup files from floppy disk to the test computer running the Kaye Validator software.

Note: The CD also includes the complete Installation Qualification Protocol and the complete Operational Qualification Protocol. These files reside in the folder named "Full version IQ-OQ V3.50" as Read-only files. A sample SOP that can be used as a template for writing your company's SOP is also included on the CD. If you intend to modify any of these files, follow the procedure below to clear the Read-only file attribute after copying the files to floppy disk. To prepare the Operational Qualification Protocol test files: 1. Using Windows Explorer, copy the four test setup files from the CD to floppy disk. 2. Navigate to the floppy disk drive. 3. Select the first file displayed on the floppy disk. 4. From the File menu, select Properties. The Properties dialog box for the selected file appears, with the Read-only and Archive attributes automatically selected, as shown below.

5. Clear the Read-only attribute check box and click OK. 6. Repeat steps 3 5 for the remaining files. The Operational Qualification Protocol test files are now ready to be read into the Kaye Validator software.

Note: Before copying the test setup files from floppy disk to the test PC, ensure that the software has been installed on the test PC, and the System Administrator has created a Supervisor account and has selected the COM port. See the Kaye Validator User's Guide for more information. To copy setup files from floppy disk to the test PC: 1. Start the Kaye Validator software. On the taskbar, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Kaye Validator, and then click Kaye Validator. The Kaye Validator screen appears, followed by the Main Menu.

2. Insert the floppy disk containing the setup files into the PC's floppy disk drive. 3. On the Kaye Validator Main Menu, click Define Setups. The File Selection screen appears.

4. Click on the Path button. In the Locate Source window, click on Drive A (3 Floppy (A:)) and click OK. The setup files on the floppy disk display in the File Selection list.

5. Select the four setups in the list, and click on the Copy button. The Locate Destination window appears. Be sure the Setups folder is highlighted (selected as default), and click OK.

6. The Validator Control box appears. Click OK.

7. The File Selection window reappears, with the Test Setup files included. To proceed with OQ testing, click on the desired Test Setup file and click OK. To exit Kaye Validator software, click Cancel. At the Main Menu screen, click Quit.
