Cost Saving by streamlining processes- The project objective was to perform cost savings within the existing system integration processes. Tasks included time motion studies, MS Excel tool for the same, Process & Value Stream Mapping. Layout Planning for all Customers- Project leader for the relocation project, Tasks included performing activity relationship analysis, spaghetti diagrams, performing hazard review and facilities assessment for a new factory setup. Kanban Replenishment System This project continued on from the layout project. The primary objective was to eliminate waste and increase efficiency by using various techniques such as Kaizen, Kanban. Financial Planning for NPI team Contributed to the new product implementation team providing key insight by calculating Return on Investment using AOI, IRR and other economic decision making tools learnt in coursework. Monitor MRP Manufacturing Resource Planning system - Planning parameters such as order period, order policy, lot sizes and finding opportunities to improve processes in order to effectively mirror our processes and anticipate material requirements while maintaining low inventory levels using oracle. Reduced Cycle time - Established supermarkets for subassemblies there by reducing build cycle time for the top level assemblies which use these assemblies. This also helped reduced the delivery time to the cells. Forecasting safety stock Safety Stock ongoing review - level loading plan to buy things we need thereby reducing SMI and/or obsolescence risk Monitor MRP-Manufacturing Resource Planning system, planning parameters such as order period, order policy, lot sizes and finding opportunities to improve processes in order to effectively mirror our processes Presented successful cost saving projects to senior VP of Engineering. Also had to roll out the concept of cost saving throughout other cross functional teams

PROJECTS Optimization of a flexible updraft-downdraft Gasifier" - Designed and Fabricated the Biomass Gasifier. Optimized various parameters and improvised the overall efficiency of the system. Considered as an efficient waste management technique, the Biomass Gasification process is used to convert waste material into usable clean energy. Dynamic work allocation- Design and Implementation of a tool in Excel using VBA to allocate work and balance the same across several departments within the factory setting. Setup of a sub-tool to line balance the entire flow of product. A deterministic model for inventory management of fast moving food products: a case study in the Indian scenario - Developed a deterministic mathematical model for the replenishment of perishable goods and used the same to compute replenishment frequency and order quantity for the time horizon under consideration.

LEADERSHIP AND OTHER INVOLVEMENT Project leader Set up an independent KANBAN system by eliminating all wastes for material procurement in the shop floor at Creation Technologies. Introduced Back Flush technique within ORACLE to maintain cycle count of materials Office Bearer at the Society of Mechanical Engineers, Anna University - Responsibilities included Marketing and organizing technical events for Pinnacle 2010 An annual national event Served as Student representative for the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Anna University In- Plant trainee for 4 months at Lucy Switchgears LLC in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
