What is noun,
pronoun,adjective, verb,
adverb?
• Noun is for name
• Pronoun is used instead of noun – like he,
she etc.
• Adejective is a quality describe a noun
• Verb is any activity
• Adverb is any thing which is about verb or
adjective.

• Name of person: proper noun – Kamal
• Abstract Noun: Happiness,
• Common noun: boy, girl etc.

• We remove these and put ies or ves.

• Object is that which is not doer – but

adjectives, which will come
first?
• The order is : size, quality, color,
origin, substance.
• For example: Red Cotton Shirt
• Red is adj. of colour, cotton is adj of
substance and shirt is noun.

• Adjectives of quality sometimes come before
adjectives of size.
• beautiful long hair elegant short hair
• But adjectives of size always come before
adjectives of color. For example:
• beautiful long black hair
• elegant short red hair
• If you use any adjective of substance, it comes
after the color adjective.

Which pronoun comes
first – I or you?
• You, as You are I will do it.
• But if it is a matter of shame, or
guilt or punishment, I will come first.
• Police will capture me, and may be to
you also.

• 1. She’s always making careless mistakes.
• 2. It was a very painful injury.
• 3. Witches and wizards have magical powers.

What is transitive verb?
• Verb that will always take an object is
called a transitive verb.
• John likes apples. Sam knows the answer
to the question.
• My sister cooks all our meals. My brother
rides his bike in the street.
• Dad buys tea at the market. Mom writes
stories in her spare time.

What are intransitive
verbs?
• The verbs, which may or may not take an
object – is intransitive – when it doesn’t
require object.
• Eagles fly high in the sky.
• The boys play in the yard on weekends. My
mom runs in the park for fun.
• We walk on the beach every evening.
