Smt. Shanti Devi Law College is situated in Rewari, Haryana, India. It is affiliated to the Maharshi Dayanand University at Rohtak.[1]

Moot Court
Haryana State Level Moot Court Competition was hold on March 5 & 6, 2011 Coordinator, Dr. Raj Kumar Yadav, Assistant Professor along with his team comprising of Ranjeet Singh Yadav , Ritesh Yadav & Vikram Singh Jakhar (Now Advocates) received certificates and remarkable admiration position from the then Vice-Chancellor, Professor R.P. Hooda in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

Rao Abhay Singh Moot Court Competition Series


1st Rao Abhay Singh Moot Court Competition was held on 25th November 2012, on eve of Law Day, where Coordinator, Dr. Raj Kumar Yadav, Assistant Professor along with his team comprising of Arpit Sharma (Now Advocate), Neha Yadav received remarkable praise for their organizing such function and certificates from the Smt. Shakuntla Yadav, Chairperson, Smt. Shanti Devi Law College, Rewari. While Justice Nirmal Yadav, a retired Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, presided over its proceedings, octogenarian Shanti Devi, mother of Power Minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, and his wife Shakuntala Yadav, who is also the chairperson of the college, were the guests of honour.[2] It is noteworthy here that the design of the college moot court hall was proposed and designed by the Dr. Raj Kumar Yadav, Assistant Professor on International Moot Court design. The activity in solely depends on their interest and their learning habit for participation at any level therein the indispensable activity.

Legal Aid Clinic


It has a permanent Legal Aid Clinic.[3] [4]Rewari college holds law literacy programme atleast twice in a year. Senior functionaries of the management of Shanti Devi Law College, the staff and students of the college participated on 08th October 2012 in a special legal literacy programme held under the auspices of the Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) of the college at Saharanwas village. While Rachna Gupta, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, attended the function as the chief guest, octogenarian Shanti Devi, mother of the local minister, Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, graced the occasion as well. Dilating upon essential aspects of legal services, which could be availed of by needy citizens to combat their legal tussles, Rachna Gupta specifically spoke about a sizeable section of the citizenry, which lived in remote rural areas and lacked legal awareness. She, therefore, exhorted prospective lawyers of the college to devote some of their time in creating legal awareness among this section of the rural population while strictly adhering to legal morality. Samultaniously Shanti Devi counselled the

Smt. Shanti Devi Law College students that after finishing their education here, when they entered into wedlock they should eschew approaching courts with their trivial conjugal discords, whereas Dr Raj Kumar Yadav, head of the LAC, highlighted the accomplishments of the LAC. He said the LAC was at the disposal of needy persons. College students, Shilpa Jain, Tarun Kumar, Lokesh Goyal and Shubhamraj Shrivastav spoke about key aspects of domestic violence, lok adalats, the RTI Act and compensation under the Motor Vehicles Act, respectively. Besides, the organisers voiced their demand regarding the establishment of a Gram Nyayalaya under the Gram Nyayalaya Act, 2009, here to enable villagers to avail of its services for the settlement of their petty disputes.[5] The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free Legal Services to the weaker sections of the society and to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes. With the help of Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Rewari College organizes legal awareness programs with law students and alumni advocates.

State Level Legal Literacy Function


On 04-05-2011 Smt. Shanti Devi Law College, Rewari participated on 07-05-2011, 11 students along with Law teacher (Dr. Raj Kumar) at NUH, MEWAT.
