The benchmark index of the Indian capital market S&P CNX Nifty (Nifty 50) closed at 5749.50 points on April 29, 2011 representing a
decrease of 84.25 points (1.44 %), as compared to the closing value of 5833.75 points on March 31, 2011. During the month of April
2011, S&P CNX Nifty touched a high of 5944.45 points on April 06, 2011. The free float market capitalization of S&P CNX Nifty
decreased from Rs.1755467.86 crores on March 31, 2011 to Rs.1729683.86 crores on April 29, 2011, i.e. an decrease of Rs.25784 crores
(1.47 %).
